Well my husband's sister loves cooking cakes, she makes very nce cakes with cartoon designs and different 3d shapes. They are so cute that it will be a pity to cut it and eat it, she takes a photo of every cake she does, she vene created a site of these cakes. She has a passion to make cakes, for me these are pieces of art what do you thing?

They say you eat with your eyes first and if that is the case then your sister has half the battle won.The fact of the matter is we decide what we want to eat by how it looks and we even start tasting it and salivating long before actually chewing.Consequently something may look pretty but taste awful but that is what we want to eat and we may actaully be able to trick our tatse buds into thinking that soemthing tatse as good as it looks. Making things look presentable is supposed to be a natural part of cooking especially when we want to get children to eat things that they wouldnt normally like ,example their vegetables. So I am a supporter of using art in cooking

I do too think that cooking is an art. It is also a skill which one needs to work on. Some chefs are really good at making a plate not only delicious but also pleasant for the eyes. (c) ronaldinu 2009 - the more people I meet-the more I love my dog

Cake decorating is definitely art. Delicious, delicious, art. I think there should be more of it. :) ((I'm a sucker for baked goods, and if it's cute/pretty then it's a double-win.))

Yes, I think food can be an art. Like your husband's sister's cakes. However, not all food is art.
