Can't stand their voice

Have you ever known anyone who's voice you couldn't stand to listen to? For me right now it's my father in law. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm so angry with him and my mother in law right now. Lately he's been leaving messages on my answering machine for my son, telling him about basketball games that are on TV. I just went through the messages on my machine and cringed when I heard my fil's voice, I just can't stand to hear it. Who's voice can you not stand to listen to?

Well no offense but some females who sing in high pitched voice annoy me a lot. I usually listen to heavy metal so I am very used to males singing but its when the ladies sing in high pitched voices that its a bit irritating but no offense to female singers.

I take no offense... I can't sing to save my life, lol. So I take it you don't like Mariah Carey one bit, do you? lol

Wow, and that's not overly high pitched either, but I guess I can see your point. I still like their music though.

Yes, I cannot stand hearing the voice of my boss. I cringe when I hear it. He is so mean and awful to me and will not listen to reason for anything. I try to pray for him as he must have a tortured soul to be so horrible to me. He wants me to resign my position but I am not willing to do so. I am a property manager and 99% of the owners are happy with the way I have worked for the past ten years. I really work hard but he wants to get rid of me and get someone new so that he can pay them less money. I really ned to work four more years to finish pay for my home and car before I retire. I sometimes just feel sick when I hear his voice and he makes me so nervous that I sometimes stammer and then he mimicks me. He is an ugly man aznd it is difficult for me to forgive him. Blessings and thanks for giving me the oportunity to vent. Blessings again dear friend.

I am so sorry your boss is so horrible to you, and I can see why it's difficult to forgive him. I'm not a very forgiving person, so I would not be able to handle your situation. You have so much strength to continue to go through that.

My children do not want me to continue working for him but I do not want them to have to help pay my living expenses. If I can work until my car and home are paid for then I can manage as I have a part time job and also make gift baskets. It all helps, This too will pass. Blessings

Well for me it is not anyone that I am particularly close too, or any members of my family but more a couple of people down at school. I hear them when I take the kids and I could smack em when I hear their whiney sour voices first thing in a morning. I can hear em yawping when I walk in the bottom gate to drop the kids at school and it is awful lol!!!!

Why are you angry with them? LOL! Yes, from time to time there has been a person whose voice I do not want to hear and I cringe too. Mostly it's just passing annoyance, like if one of my kids won't stop asking for me over and over and OVER or if someone is being an idiot and yelling at one of my friends, stuff like that. I also don't like some high pitched voices if they are also combined with certain inflections

Yeah I get that way with my kids from time to time too, but mostly it's when they cry or whine. I have a 1 year old and 2 and half year old who still cry on regular basis, just due to their age, but it gets to a point where I just don't want to hear any crying anymore for any reason, and my 6 year old daughter is so dramatic, she'll cry over such foolish things, and I just get annoyed when I hear it. I end up sending her to her room until she finishes crying. Oh, and to know why I'm angry with my in laws, you'll have to see some of my other discussions, I just cannot stand those people!!!

There is a girl I worked with whose voice was a high pitched squeal and just the thought of having to listen to it all day long made me want to stay at home.

I used to live with a rooomate that drove me insane. I think it was a mix of her just being annoying with her ranting and raving all the time. As soon as she opened her mouth those around her kind of rolled their eyes internally because that meant we had to listen to her rant and rave about how the world was out to get her. So I think it was more of a oh gosh how long is this going to continue rather than her voice being that annoying.

I have known some people who had these high pitched rediculously childish voices. How can you take anything they say seriously? There are personalities on the television that I really don't care to hear because of this type of voice. I do have a friend or two who do as well. It is grating. I would think there is something they could do to tone it down abit.

one of my best friend's husband. Everytime i hear his voice, i feel like vomitting and sooner or later, i think i'm going to puke infront of him. I think having dislike for the person is the core of the problem. i don't like him. i don't hate him, hate is too strong an emotion that i don't think he deserve it. treat him more like a pest, something like a dirty rat running around my house.

I know over the years there's been several, but the one that really stands out was this gal I worked with. If she wasn't whinning, she was talk'en trash about a person. If she wasn't biitch'en about her live in boy friend, then she was openly and very loudly comparing this man to that one. She was just this stupid little girl in a woman's body.

There are a couple ladies that I work with that I hate their voices. I don't really care much for them and when I hear their voice it just makes me want to cover my ears and start screaming "La La La La La". I really hate hearing them over the intercom at work. OMG!

Hey kats! I do have some people whose voices that I just can't stand to listen to, but they are not friends or family! And it's a good thing! I would delete them without listening for sure! They are just people that I know whose voices are beyond irritating! One of my girlfriend's friends has a voice that is beyond like chalk on a blackboard and it makes me want to choke her and I know that I am not alone either! lol There have been times when I have been angry at my own friends when I have not wanted to hear their voices either and would delete their messages without listening to them. But, as you said it was because I was angry at them. So that does probably have the same effect on you as your fil's voice does right now and I totally understand that!

I think there are probably lots of people whose voices get on my last nerve but the ones that immediately come to mind are those of the kids of the Rogers commercials (ya know the 'I think he just 3G-ed on the rug' ones?). I hear those commercials come on TV and I have to change the channel - I absolutely cannot stand those kids!
