People with low ratings here - always guilty?

Do you think they are really impolite, rude, offensive and their posts always violate the tos or they simply have problems with particular interest where their opinion is rated down by others?

I would say that it is either the really outright offensive stuff, or else too much self-promotion or just blatant posting of affiliate links. I don't think it's that they just have controversial opinions. I have plenty of those, and I have posted some of them. I have on occasion pointed people to my profile to check out my site too. And yet, I still have a 9 rating. I would love a 10, but I think I would have to be a little too careful for my personality. I have seen a few great posters who I respect who have a 7 or 8. I think that you have to try pretty hard to get something like a 4. Oh. I am a little scared that my rating will go down a bit tomorrow. People don't like it when you tell them that HYIPs (especially the ones they just joined) are ponzi scams, and yet I feel that the truth has to be said, regardless of the fact that the poster will probably rate me negatively.

Haha, some people just can't handle the truth. What a terrible thing I do to people by directing people to Wikipedia's article on ponzi schemes. Maybe someone will think back and laugh about all those negative ratings they gave people who warned them before they lost 100 dollars in an HYIP. I dropped to 92 overnight. And I responded to a couple discussions on religion today. Tomorrow I'll be down to 90 because a few people think my thoughts on religion are a little too exclusive. Oh well.

Hi silver' I wouldn't think it would be because of anything they had done, it just takes time to get a higher rating..so don't think too badly if your or anyone elses rating isn't too high...littleowl

I don't find most people on here rude or impolite. Even those with low ratings. It's like any other large group of people though you can always find polar opposites. You'll find those who just speak whatever is on their mind and the diplomats, some who are helpful and the contant critics, the always tolerant and the vicious extremists, the open-minded and the narrow-minded, the very loving and the very hateful, the incredibly ignorant and the extremely intelligent. And everything else in between. No matter what their rating, you have to take every person as an individual and not judge them by the star but by what they say then judge for yourself.

It can be either thing, but it usually depends on the interests the person posts in most often. People who like to discuss religion and politics a lot often have low ratings simply because other myLotters disagree with their opinions -- that sucks, but it's unfortunately a fact of life here. If someone posts mainly about making extra money and has a low rating, then there's a better chance that that someone is a spammer and violates the rules a lot. Rude people will tend to get rated down wherever they post, but it often surprises me how many of them still have decent ratings and lots of friends despite many nasty posts.

Yes, I've noticed that in these two mylotters come to loose their earnings. And ratings too. :DD

Hi silvercoin, such people are not necessarily rude, or impolite, or offensive. They are just different. So we have a very jazzy group somewhere, and we have a very conservative group somewhere. If the discussion heading catches the attention of the conservative person, then chances are he/she will go around negging all those who responded to the discussion, irrespective of whether or not they were offensive, whatever. Same thing happens with respect to religion, politics, and differences in opinions. Hopefully, people would learn how to view other people's point of view as well. And that includes me. :)
