I just received an email about how I can claim millions of dollars. I know this is of course a scam but what I found very interesting is what was at the end of the email... Here it is "MR. Song Li leHang Seng Bank Ltd.Sai Wan Ho Branch,83, Des Voeux Road,Hong Kong.Good Day,Let me start by introducing myself. I am Mr. SONG LI LE director of operations of the Hang Seng Bank Ltd. I have an obscured business suggestion for you. Before the U.S and Iraqi war our client Colonel Sadiq Uday who was with the Iraqi forces and also businessman made a numbered fixed deposit for 18 calendar months, with a value of Nineteen millions Nine Hundred Thousand United State Dollars($19,950,000) only in my branch.Upon maturity several notices was sent to him, even during the war which began in 2003.Again after the war another notification was sent and still no response came from him. We later find out that the General along with his wife and only daughter had been killed during the war in a bomb blast that hit their home. You can read more about the bombings on visiting the site below:1. Link Removed After further investigation it was also discovered that Colonel SadiqUday did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in bank. So, Nineteen millions Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the laws of my country at the expiration 5 years the funds will revert to the ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim the funds. Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to Colonel Sadiq Uday so that you will be able to receive his funds. MODALITIES:I want you to know that I have had everything planned out so that we shall come out successful. I have an attorney that will prepare the necessary document that will back you up as the next of kin to Colonel Sadiq Uday, all that is required from you at this stage is for you to provide me with your Full Names and Address so that the attorney can commence his job. After you have been made the next of kin, the attorney will also fill in for claims on your behalf and secure the necessary approval and of probate in your favour for the move of the funds to an account that will be provided by you. There is no risk involved at all in this matter, as we are going to adopt a legalized method and the attorney will prepare all the necessary documents. Please endeavor to observe utmost discretion in all matters concerning this issue. Once the funds have been transferred to your nominated bank account we shall then share in the ratio of 60% for me, 40% for you.Should you be interested please send me your;1,Full names,2,private phone/fax number,3,current residential address,4,Age and5,Profession.And I will prefer you reach me on my private email address below:(songlile1990@jmail.co.za) and finally after that I shall provide you with more details of this operation.Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated. Kind Regards Mr. Song Li le --------------------------------------------Este mensaje ha sido enviado usando el sistema de correo del Colegio BennettEl colegio no se hace responsable por su contenido o apoya las opiniones del autor. -------------------------------------------Mail sent using Colegio Bennett“s Mail System The views expressed may not necessarily be those of Colegio Bennett High School." The very end of this states that the email was sent from "Colegio Bennett“s Mail System" So I wonder if it is students getting involved in illegal acts or if it is the teachers? What do you think about it? People that do this type of thing in my opinion need to get a job.

I hate scams and I have seen alot of them over the years online. I think those people need to find something better to do also than to scam people out of their hard earned money.

I agree i wish these scammers were easier to catch so that maybe we could actually do something about them.

I get those emails too.....it is pretty annoying. I got one today from someone saying they needed me to pick up $187,000 from Western Union. Money laundering is a big issue these days, so I delete them without even getting too involved with what they have to say. If someone wanted to give me money they would have to do better than an email.

Well, if its a teacher they already have a job (maybe it doesn't pay enough?). And if it a student they may be too young to get a job, or not permitted by their parents. I usually don't get these scam mails anymore. Once I started responding that I would be reporting them to the proper internet authorities they stopped coming lol. However, if I were to get an e-mail such as this, I would find the contact information for the principal of the school, and the Superintendent of the District and alert them. They should be able to track down who sent this. I'm inclined to believe this is a teacher, not a student; in most districts that I know of they don't allow children to use the e-mail system.

I looked for a contact but the school is in columbia and i could not understand anything on the site. From the one english page i found it is a private school so I bet the kids are allowed to use email there. their parens pay for them to go there so they must be able to do as they please when it comes to the internet thing. I always write back to the idiots that send these to me and it doesn't help. Thank you for your response

I saw that after I posted this response. It didn't come up as a hyperlink in my comment, but there is a page that you can translate the rest of the site just by putting in the url: http://babelfish.yahoo.com Also, it may help that I was actually reporting them. I don't know personally, but a few of them may have been caught with my help. Here is a page that explains how to report these scam e-mails: http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/reporting.php After reporting a few of these e-mails, I haven't gotten anymore to date. If I did, I would simply report it again.

I get these kinds of emails all of the time. I used to get sucked in by them, when I first started looking for ways to make money. I got one, once, from supposedly, Mercede Benz and that I won a car. But I had to send $3500.00 to have it shipped. I forwarded the email to the legal department for Mercede Benz, as they requested when I phoned them. They said they were working on trying to catch them but so far had no luck. I hope that they catch them and prosicute them as they deserve it. I am sure that some people may haven fallen for this scam and got money out of some people. There should be internet cops to get rid of these people but I guess there are way too many and it would cost too much to hire a bunch of cops to get rid of them. So when I get these kinds of emails I now just delete them and don't even read them anymore. I don't want to even open those emails because they could also have some bad viruses that my system might not detect.

I wonder if the school knows that this is going on? I always hate when I get these emails and it seems I am getting them more and more often her lately and each time they get worse. I just hope that no one is falling for these and losing their own hard earned money.

I hope not either. but the reason they are still going around is because some people do fall for them.
