Do you prefer to receive gifts or gift cards? Do you think it is better to give gifts or gift cards? I guess it depends on who it's from.If it had been my husband I would something personal. But,if it were a present from someone not so close to me I would love a gift card so that I could get what I really want.

It depends on who's doing the buying..Some people do not do good buying gifts,so i had rather have a gift card...I do like gifts though, because they are much more personal, but if a person cannot make choices and they feel more comfortable giving gift cards then thats fine..i like both...

Indeed, some people are terrible shoppers. Did you see the commercial where the man says that he would not know a great Christmas gift if it was right beside him.I believe it is a Best Buy commercial,if I remember correctly.

If it were someone pretty close to me I'd rather that they give me a gift rather than give me a gift card unless I actually asked for a gift card. Sometimes I don't know what I want and a gift card allows me to buy what I want anytime without sitting around thinking about what I want exactly. Now if it's someone that doesn't know me well, then I'd rather that they give me a gift card. Usually, if they don't know me well they always go and buy me something that I don't like or will never have any use for so gift cards are more useful instead of something that will just sit around and collect dust.

I am like you. The gift cards are nice though, because you can get things you need without telling people that you are having problems.

I would rather receive gift cards. There are just some gifts that I have to return. Gift cards allow us to buy what we want or need.

That's true. That is why I said that if it was someone close I would want a gift. But,anyone that is not very close then I would prefer a gift card because they probably do not know what I'd like or might already have.

I tend to think the same way you do. I usually don't get too much of anything. Can't remember the last time I got a gift card anyway.

well, for me I will prefer gift card so that I can buy what I would like to have. But like you said if it comes from a husband, it's cute if it is something personal, not a gift card of course but from other people? I like gift card.

I agree with you, if its from a boyfriend, husband, girlfriend or wife, it better be something other than a gift card. Gift cards is something thats easy to get, doesn't really have any thought or meaning to it. If its from a friend, I wouldn't mind. But now and days you have to be careful, stores are closing left and right.
