2009 off to a BAAAAAAD start already!!

Ok well as some might know a few days before 2009 I fell and broke my tailbone and my whole family has been so sick with something similar to food poisoning. My sister, niece, son and daughter all went to the hospital for it last week. Now tonight I was in the kitchen getting some dinner and my daughter was in the living room.....
She started screaming so I turned to look and couldn't see her so I came running into the living room and she was behind the couch, so I got her out and sat with her on a different couch and held her head because she said she hit it. After about 5 min she wasn't stopping crying so I took my hand away and it was full of blood!!!
I picked her up and carried her to the bathroom and told my son to find me the phone. I got a wet cloth and cleaned the area and then got a dry one to try and stop the bleeding.
I got her to the hospital and flipped out at the doctor at the nurses desk because there was no one in reception and she took me in to a room right away. She looked at it and then got the nurse in to wash the wound. She was going to put some stitches in but because my daughter is on;y 2 and a half she said my girl probably wouldn't sit still long enough so they used skin glue and got her finger stuck to my daughter. Now that was the worst i think because my girl was screaming in pain from the doctor pulling her finger off my daughter's wound. We were there for all of 15 minutes! I was shocked we weren't there an hour since that is the norm for our hospital.
I am so thankful my little girl will be ok. I just have to watch for concussion.
So do you have any horrible stories you would like to share?
Most parents have some since I swear kids like to get hurt because they do it tooooo often it seems.

My sister spent Christmas week in the hospital. I just got brought her home New Years Eve.
Then New Years day, my mother started feeling ill. On the second she felt so weak she could hardly walk from her bedroom to the living room. She thought it was because the doctor had raised the dosage on her blood pressure medication and that it was a side effect.
Then yesterday, it was worse and she was finally willing to go to the hospital. As I'm sitting here writing right now, she's snoozing in the Intensive Care Unit. It turned out she had a bleeding ulcer which was probably caused by 2 of her heart medications.
She should be fine, but this was not a good start to the new year.

Thanks. She's doing well. They stepped her down out of the ICU today to a regular nursing ward. She should be coming home tomorrow.

I hope that now that we are into April, that things have gotten better for you and your family, as this discussion is 4 months old. I hope things go better for you from now on. I have had a good year so far and am looking forward to things getting even better.

And head wounds always look so much worse. Your poor girl! They used that glue on my eyelid once. My dog at the time had accidentally hit me in the eye with one of his nails, and it had torn the skin off part of my eyelid. They used the glue, but then the doctor had to take off some of the excess and his finger was kind of stuck to my eye. I know how much it hurt and I'm an adult. For a kid it has to be so much worse.

OMG on your eye? I would be scared my eye would get glued shut. Hope your eye got better quickly. My daughters wound doesn't look like it is healing but it also isn't getting worse and the glue won't come off LOL I am gonna have to take her back to the doc and find out whats goin on with it. Thanks for your response.

I am so sorry to hear about this and I hate it that your new year got off to a very bad start. I have had years like that also but they turned out very well before the end of the year.
