Getting jittery? Nerves on edge? Feel a headache coming on? Want to pull hubby's lower lip up over his head??
Yep, you're addicted.
But it's not all that bad.
I'm addicted to Diet Coke. I cannot get through the day without that soothing, comforting cold silver can of Diet Coke. Just this morning, as I was opening another can, my wife tells me I drink too much Diet Coke. I deny that I do and she tells me I drink alot more that just 2-3 cans per day. I say that I never claimed that. I say that I can put away a 6-pack in a day. She laughs at me, says, A SIX-PACK!! You drink a TWELVE PACK in a day. I just opened my third can in as many hours. I got at 8:30 a.m. and it wasn't even noon yet! LOL
OK, so Coke does have a lot of sugar and other ingredients, but the major ingredient IS water (albeit carbonated).

Yep, it sounds like you've been there done that! I would not want to be anywhere near anyone going through withdrawal from anything,
especially if it's a woman. As women we can be incredibly witchy, conniving, and nasty. Men are much more civil in that department. Women are all hormonal and we can flip on a dime and scratch someone's eyes out without a moment's notice!1 person likes this

I admire you're wanting to give it up, but I would recomment that you slowly wean yourself off. If you do not drink caffinee free pop, then you will go into caffine withdrawls - this usually means you'll have a headach, some people get migrains and the shakes.
I'd wean yourself by cutting one can a day until your down to nothing.

I took myself off of pop about 7 months ago. I do drink coffee, but decafe only. I noticed a big change in myself. My skin was better, my hair, I wasn't as lagging in the morning.
Note: there will be 3 really hard weeks where you feel you can't get out of bed because there isn't a caffine rush anymore, but don't give up.
Your body has to do it. It doesn't effect everyone the same, but headaches and overly tired are very common, just don't give up. Feeling like that will only be temperary.
You'd never think that giving up something like a can of pop would be so hard, but in all reality it's a lot like smoking. There will be a few hard weeks in there, but push forward. It's worth it.

LOL no one thinks your stupid oh and chocolate is not all that bad for you it is proven to reduce your risk of some cancers. As lot of other people have said you gotta ween yourself off of it otherwise your gonna end up lookin like somoen coming off of smokes and coffee all at once LOL I for one am more of a coffee drinker and If I ever wanna cut down I know it will have to be done slowly because I drink 2-3 pots a day sometimes more if I have company. if you drink 4 a day cut back to 2 for a little while then cut back to one and then none eventually and you will be ok with the withdrawls. oh and make sure if your hubby starts complaining about you drinkin pop again you just show him the dicussion lol

that's good your trying to give it up.. my hubby drinks pretty much only coke. . and he will only drink from a can. . Why not try some bubbly water instead. . maybe the carbonation will help just a little bit.. and if you dont drink something else with cafiene in it you will prob have a little bit of cafiene withdraw.. which is basicallly a headache. . Good luck hun.

I am also a bad addict of coke. Usually when i am thirsty the first thing i remember is the taste of coke. I just love it like anything. Sometimes its very difficult to live without coke and this is a very negative thing. I mean getting addicted to a drink so badly which disturbs you so much is bad in all ways. For me quitting drinking coke is more than impossible. What i can do is that just decrease the number of cans i drink per day.

I think I'm addicted to soda too! I love drinking it whenever I can. It's horrible! I wish I didn't like drinking soda. I think it's just the carbonation I like.. I don't know. I'm trying to cut back on drinking it, but it's just addicting to drink when you're out eating or something.

I do not dare go a whole day without at a 20 oz to get me through though I can say I can get through it better than I used to be. Once I started counting calories etc I limit myself to a coke zero and only one a day.
But like others have stated try to ween yourself instead of cold turkey. Been there done that :)

I was addicted to pop as well. I was a happy Pepper. But, after doing some research I found how bad pop is and had to give it up. Oh, I still have an occasional one and could never totally give it up. I want to live to be an old f-rt and such things won't get me there.

I used to drink way too much pop as well and I found that I drank it more because I wanted something cold than anything else. I started keeping a water pitcher in the fridge and now when I'm thirsty I just go for a nice big glass of ice water. But sometimes there's nothing like a tall glass of Coke with lots of ice!
