man's last lotto ticket wins $10M for widow. On the day that Donald Peters died, he unknowingly provided financial security for his wife of 59 years and their family. Peters bought two Connecticut Lottery tickets at a local 7-Eleven store on Nov. 1 as part of a 20-year tradition he shared with his wife Charlotte. Later that day, the 79-year-old retired hat factory worker suffered a fatal heart attack while working in his yard in Danbury, Conn. "He'd be very mad, he just passed away and she won a lot of money," said Brian Peters, one of the couple's three children. "He'd say, 'Figures!'" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/lottery_legacy;_ylt=Ak52e71sDQTpIuaakdbXaxoazJV4

Ah.. well, I would think that a wonderful think if I had to die and leave my family. There would be no bitterness from me looking down from heaven. (Should I get a ticket for said destination, of course.) An odd quirk of fate, one must admit.

Only lottery I have won is those spam mails I get regularly in my inbox saying I won the email lottery and all kinds of other things. That is a shame he won't be able to enjoy the money with his wife and family. Maybe he should have took it easy that day and he still would be alive. Well..unless learning that he won killed him with a heart attack. I am just glad they won't have no worries now about their finances.

I read this story to and was just amazed. What a great legacy to leave behind, lol. Poor guy doesn't even get to enjoy his winnings. I bet though that the widow must feel torn between grief and disbelief. It sure would be something.

Wow. That would be so very nice to win the lottery. My husband and I have never won more than $100.00 when playing the lottery.

It is all in God's plan. I'm guessing they ae not too well off and he's the family breadwinner. God might have taught it might have been too hard for the family to bear to lose a good father and leave them in shambles financially. Sorry, I'm not too much a believer of fate and luck. Nice ead, thanks for sharing!
