I try to do that but usually find that I am restless and it is difficult to fall asleep. But once in a routine of it then I can get to bed fine. I do try to get to sleep at a good time for work the next day and getting the kids off to school. We had the Christmas break and our sleeping pattern got a little messed up but the last couple days we have been trying to go to bed earlier so that it won't be so difficult getting to be earlier today. However I still think many of the students and staff will be a bit tired tomorrow.

Yes, i do go to bed early before a big event, to get me started early and be fully energized. By the way, congratulations on the short story, i haven't read it yet but that is a big accomplishment my friend. I will read it when i have enough time to savor and enjoy it.

Hey P1ke! I guess you are sleeping by now! I hope that you are
having wonderful dreams! I also hope that you enjoy your course
tomorrow too! I get more stressed when I know that I have to do
something important and I have to force myself to get to sleep.
Then I really can't fall asleep! I envy anyone who can just
get into bed and drift off into a nice slumber! That is something
that I have never been able to do! It is one of my greatest
wishes that someday I will be able to fall asleep like normal
people! But, then again I would first have to be a normal person!

I am like that as well. I get really stressed by important meetings and when I get stressed I cannot sleep. I wish I could just fall asleep like some people can. I have to stay up until I am exhausted these days and I have naps during the day to make up for my inability to sleep in bed properly.
Who wants to be normal? It can be awfully boring depending on who sets the boundaries of normality. lol

I am usually too wound up knowing I have to get up early to get to bed early.*L*
I just go to bed at my usual time, or later, and wake up early anyway.
Have fun with your course tomorrow. *S*

I try to but I generally am either unable to sleep or else I wake up in an hour or two and cannot go back to sleep. Hope you were able to get off ok and that your 'big event' went smoothly...

When I was healthy I used to always go to bed early before a big event. Now my sleep patterns are just plain weird that I never know how it will work out. At the moment my pain levels are so high that I rarely go to bed before midnight and I wake every couple of hours.
At the moment I am often getting up at 6 or 7 as the pain from being in bed for 6 hours is so bad that I have to get up and try to treat it, usually with a hot bag. Some mornings I have had trouble getting out of bed without help. I have never been this bad before. I have a big day coming up quite soon but I doubt it will affect my sleep patterns as they seem to be solely dictated by pain and fatigue these days.
What course are you doing? I hope you have a great day.

It's a cathedral course Sharra. I am sorry that things are getting worse for you. It must almost be like you don't want to go to bed because you know how you will fell when you wake. I hope that you can get/do something to ease it all before too long.

Depends on how sleep deprived I am. I can do a good 12 hours on the weekend to catch up!

Good night p1ke, hope you sleep well.. I don't go to bed early no matter how early I have to get up.. I stay up as long as I can, reading, watching the cooking channel, that may be why I snack so much late at night, playing games on the computer or a watching a Hallmark movie.. I wake up early anyway and I do occasionally catch a nap to make up for the loss of sleep.. Good luck tomorrow..

Hi p1key,
Good luck with your course, tomorrow, no I never go to bed early, I am a night bird and I can't sleep early even if I tried, so I can go to bed late and still get up early if I had to go somewhere. Hugs.

Well, it is three hours later you are probably well into snooze mode..lol and I hope you got well rested for your course. I have tried but sometimes it doesn't work out where I am such a night owl. When I get fibernet hopefully that will change and I will be able to get online during the day instead of having to wait till after 9 at night so my husband won't miss a work call. Nowdays they are few and far between but i still have ot stay off till then just incase. Well, hope you had sweet dreams and that everything goes smoothly for you at your course.

Generally, yes I do, because I'm good. :D
Usually I need at least eight hours sleep in order for my little brain to work slightly, lots more sleep if I need it to work a lot.
I normally go to bed around 10-10:30pm (ish) when it's a college night, but can be anything up to midnight if I don't have to be up in the morning.

Hi p1,
ohhh..How's your appointment yesterday?
I am like that also, I will be sleeping early and prepare what I need to bring ahead of time and there are even times I will cook for my breakfast during the night so that I will be in the venue of my appointment very early!

Hi There!
If I have to get up early the next day to go somewhere I will try my best to get in bed early to get enough sleep. I don't always get to do it but I sure try.
A few weeks ago I took my daughter to Mississippi to see her boyfriend to attend his work Christmas dinner. I thought that since her boyfriend has his lunch break each day from 10:30 to 11:30, and she didn't tell me any different, that that was when the party would be. So I told her we would need to leave by 7:00 at the latest because it takes about two hours to get to the place where he works from our house and we had also never been there and had to have time to find it. I had some work to do for the hospital I work for so I got up at 3:00 a.m. to make sure I would have time to finish the work before we left and we left at 6:30 instead of 7:00 a.m. because the weather was rainy and foggy. As we were getting fairly close to the town where her boyfriend works she informed me that the dinner wasn't going to start until 12:00!! I nearly blew a gasket!! I told her "Why didn't you tell me??? We wouldn't have had to leave so early!!" She told me she had not found out until the night before. I said "You still could have told me before you went to bed!!" Oh well, at least we got her there on time LOL!!!
