I Need New Tires

It was inevitable. It is time for new tires on one of our vehicles and we shouldn't try to make it through the winter on the old tires. Does anybody have any tips on how to find the best deals on tires?

About a year ago I needed to buy new tyries and a friend of mine said he would take to the car graveyard near his place, it is a place when you pay a dollar to get in then you can walk down rows and rows of cars that are being wrecked and you can take any part you want from the cars yourself then pay very cheap prices for what you want, so my friend who know a lot about cars found me 4 almost new tyres and i got the four for $80, he saved me hundreds of dollars...

Wow that is impressive. I know enough to find the right size. And I guess I can always use the penny trick to determine if there is enough tread.

The best and least expensive place that I bought tires was National Tire and Battery, or NTB. They also have a guarantee on the tires which is nice. If you know the kind of tires you need you could always call around to see who has them the cheapest. But also make sure to get the installation price as well, is it free with purchase or is there a charge?

If you are looking for new tires decide what you want and call around for quotes. A lot of places will beat the best price you get and when they do call the next place and see if they will beat it. Its a lot of work but it can save you a lot.

You could try some local auto salvage yards... they may have some tires that suit your needs that have a few miles on them but will get you thru winter or longer with out the investment of new. SOmetimes you can get used at some independant garages... that's what my mom used to do.
