Yesterday, I went to Target and I always check the clearance racks for clothes for my grand daughters. I also have a new grand daughter coming in April. So I was looking for new born and 3 month stuff. I found cute one piece footie pajamas - pale green stripes and a applique on the one side that said "Santas Little Helper". Well, at that age more than most, they grow out of clothes so fast, you hardly get to the car with your purchase before they have been out grown, so there is no sense spending lot of money on sleepers. THey were cute anyw3ay and so what if the little logo is there off season? They were $2.18 so I got a new born pair. With all the sales, I always check prices in those scan things the stores have mounted thorugh the store. I had something else I wanted to verify price and while there, I always scan everythign I have...just in case... so that I know for sure the marked price is the sale price and will ring up that way when I pay. So I ran the tag for this little sleeper through and it said $.59! I did it three times to make sure!! Every time it scanned at $.59. So I went back and got 2 NB and 2 3mo. And at the register, they still rang $.59. What a bargain! Today I also went to Walgreens... had a few minutes so I thought I'd stop in there and pick up some of their fabric bags. I have been looking at many kinds and Walgreens seems to be the ones that are the sturdies and hold up best. I have several from other stores and they are already getting holes and don't have the nice flat bottom. Anyway, I went in, they are usually .99 so I saw the rack of them.. they have been green, but these were white, so what do I care, I grabbed all that were on the rack - 7 of them, buck a piece. Got to the register and she scans them and they come up as $.50! I asked her is she sure and she said yes, so I asked for more and she said that is all they had. Just my luck, but at least I got 7 for 50!! YOu found any great bargains lately?

Oh, yes, some years back when we were working in California we got "vouchers" instead of paychecks a couple times, but they were made good right away. Overnight in one case and within the weeks the other time. I hope the retirees don't get vouchers in place of their state pensions, lol.

Yeah - get out there! Usually this time of year after they do their After Christmas sales, they have their "pre inventory" sales, so they can sell what they can and then don't have to count it for inventory and pay taxes or depreciation or whatever the deal is on that end. Now that the holidays are over, they will come down again. I walked the mall for exercise twice a week and notice the sales that were at 70% are now at 50% off and lower... but they'll come back, but then nothing till after April 15 - tax day. THey'll put the sales on to get your refund! However, if you live in California - you might not get a refund this year... you might get an IOU! Yes, the state is nearly broke nad on the news last night, the IRS guy said, "a good chance that you will get an IOU this year. We don't have the money to pay refunds. Then the IOU will just become cashable, when we have the money." When asked what that might be, he said of course, 'we don't know". Also asked if people could PAY their taxes owed with an IOU and of course, he said "No they can't do that"... basically "we can but you can't". Sick sick sick!

Wow, you are a great bargain shopper. I haven't found anything that cheap lately but I have found some good deals. I found a pair of runners that are Dr. Schols, for $5.00 regular price was $80. I actually bought two pairs that they had in my size. I saw that co-op had Campbells soups on for $4.99 so I went online to their site and got coupons for $2.00 off so I ended up getting 3 cases at $2.99 each. Then I saw that Walmart had some Pantenne shampoos for dyed hair, on sale for $3.50, regular price $7.00 so I went online to their site and got coupons for $2.00 off so we were able to buy two of them at $1.50 each. But I rarely find these kinds of deals and I am always watching for them because they are out there, just need to find them. There are a lot of ways people can save money but are just too lazy to look for them. Good luck with your bargain findings. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Wow, you did great! I love it when I encounter a great buy. Once I realize that the price is even lower than the sticker price I go back for more! Great way to stash away gifts to give throughout the year or to save for Christmas.

I know! I would have gotten larger sizes, but she'll be 6 months in the summer and my son lives in the high desert so it gets really hot up there so she won't want to be wearing footie jammies. I was planning on buying sale items up to 12 months - just can't see storig them any longer than that, but I thin I will start - if the sale is really good. I have her baby shower covered now, and need to start on "nanny gifts" for her!

That is great. I always get super excited when I get up to the register and things are lower than what I original thought they were. I just love sales.

Sounds like you hit the jackpot. I haven't run into a good bargain like that in a long time. It seems like this is the time of year to find things like that so I will be on the lookout.

Yeah got out there now... I don't think it will last much longer. They are getting rid of christmas things now (ergo the "santa's littel helper") but heck, who cares what it says on the jammies - as long as it keeps the baby warm and comfortable! But there were alot of sales on clothes bigger size, but I can't rationalize buying now nad saving for over a year to be worn. If it was my kid, I would, but as grandma.... no. I told my son about it, but he won't do anything. But while they had good sales on the infants size, tghey didn't have much for little girls size for my other 2 grand daughter - 2 and 8. Tip: always check the end of the isles for clearence... not the ones that face the busy isle they end into, but ones that face a non-busy isle. That is where you;ll find the bargains! The jammies were way in the back of the infants section just before diapers. The sheets were in the end of the isle, of pots and pans!

I know what you mean about bargains. When you find them, it feels more like a gift to you than at Christmas time gifts. And to get to the register to find they are marked down even more is just icing on the cake!

That's why I started scanning things before I get to the register - if they are cheaper, I want to get more. Last week I bought a set of queen flannel sheets - they are christmas theme penguins and I have always wanted to try flannel sheets in the winter and I don't care the theme, so they were on sale for $14. I love these sheets! THey are the most comfortable, warm and cozy!! I was surprised I could tell such a difference! So when I went back to target, I was going to get another set - and saw another pattern and it was $15. I got those at that is still a good price and then I saw the ones I already bought nad scanned them thinking they'll be even cheaper, being Christmas and all, but they were $15 too! So I got the other print. I sound like a nucklehead for being so excited at something so silly, but I havenot had the money to buy things like this .in my life.. so this is the first year I have had money to buy things - so that is why I am so exicted about flannel sheets!!

Hi there coffeebreak I am for sure a bargin shooper I have not found any good deals lately but I love to shop clearance anywhere. I also go to Walgreens a lot because it is right near my house and you know what I love that place. If you go there when they are having good sales you really can save money on a lot of different things. Like I am a pop drinker and they had a sale last week 3 for 11$ for 12 packs of pespi products, too bad I missed it but they also gave a 3$ register reward as well! I thought that was a good deal, I love when they have the register rewards I have saved a lot of money that way and since I shop at Walgreens a lot any money that I can add to my spending saves me! Take care and happy mylotting to you. Have a great day online!
