I tried to search for this thread but could not find any. Sorry if there is indeed an existing thread such as this. Anyway, what are the movies which you are really anticipating this year? For me, there are quite a few of them such as Watchmen, Transformers 2, X-Men Origins and Ice Age. I was hoping for a new Ironman or maybe Spiderman, or perhaps some Lord of the Ring related movies. But it seems like there isn't any coming out this year. What about you?

Same as you two I will be watching Transformers, X-Men Origins, and Ice Age. I'll add Angels and Demons in my list however. I love the novel better than Da Vinci Code. :D

Angels and Demons, is it the book written by Dan Brown too?

Yup it's written by Dan Brown as well. Here's a link to the trailer of Angels and Demons: http://adjix.com/qnm (I can't paste the exact url so I shortened it instead so I can type it in.)

It's not a mainstream movie at this time, but for whatever reason, The International has me really intrigued. I cannot wait for that to come out. It sounds like it may be a disappointing year movie wise as this summer's super hero theme seems to be taking a breather and I haven't heard any buzz around a series or sequal coming to life on the big screen once again. Then again, I've said that before and been corrected by year's end.

What is that movie about? Honestly speaking, I have not heard about it before.

I'm not too sure how well I'd be able to explain it but it's basically an edge-of-your-seat action thriller starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. Owen is an Interpol agent while Watts is a District Attorny of some kind. Together they try to take down an International Bank which is partaking in money laundering, arms trading, and destabalizing governments but they're in so deep that their own lives are now constantly at risk. Not only are they after the bank but the bank is after them as the bank stops at nothing, including murder to continue financing the war on terror. I don't know if my description gives it justice so if you're still uncertain or are intrigued and would like a further look, the trailer can be found here: www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/theinternational

I've been anticipating ever since last year the harry potter and the half-blood prince movie. It was originally planned to be released Nov. 2008 but moved to Jul 2009. The other movie that I really wish to be out this year is the Eldest-- the sequel movie to Eragon. there are humors that it'll be out this year.. i REALLY HOPE so.

I'm looking forward to X-Men Origins too. A chance to finally see more mutants. Gambit is supposed to be here. Jackman is one of my favorite actors, and he does Wolverine so well. Also looking forward to Ink Heart. The previews look really exciting. Hope it lives up to that. And then there's the Terminator:Salvation. Christian Bale always delivers an intense performance, it should be a real treat.

I was disappointed with the earlier X-Men movies because there wasn't Gambit in there. Gambit is one of my favorite characters in X-Men cartoon. I can't wait to watch him appearing in the movie. But the main attraction should be Wolverine and Jackman. As for Terminator, let's hope it's as big as the previous Terminator movies or maybe better due to the technologies available nowadays.

Me too. I really like Gambit. Deadpool is also going to be fun. Both characters have such mouths, and are so unruly, it should be quite a movie. Then of course, anything with Wolverine is going to have tons of attitude. It just can't not have it.

Bride Wars should be a think-less comedy. Defiance is going to be a great movie. Daniel Craig will tear it up once again. Inkheart with Brenden Fraisher should be a good one to see. The new Underworld is coming out soon. Watchmen has got me buzzing a bit. I don't think The Spirit is going to be one to see so skip that one. I Love You, Man with Paul Rudd is going to be good. The Accidental Husband. The Soloist. X-men Origins. Also try and check out the new Star Trek movie.

Ink Heart sounds good but I've yet to watch the trailers. Underworld is going to come out somewhere this month or next. But the first movie was quite normal for me. Cool action but not much story. My friends have watched Spirit and they said it was a disappointment.

It's extremely disappointing to see someone like Frank Miller do a movie that is giong to tank in the box office. Some graphic novels should be kept graphic novels.

My most anticipated movie coming out this year is the next Star Trek, which instead of going forward in the Next Generations or beyond direction, goes back to the original series, only with new actors playing the roles. I wonder how the new actors will do as Capt. Kirk, Mr. Spock, Scotty and the rest. They'll have some mighty big shoes to fill. I don't know if a new Superman will come out. I didn't care very much for the last one, with the new actor who replaced Christopher Reeve.

Star Trek seems to be a very famous name. LOL. I must admit that I've never seen a single episode before! I'm a great fan of Star Wars though.

Robert Downey JR is a class act. :) Though I'm not too sure about the movie since, well, I'm not really interested in that kind of story.

The few movies that I am most looking forward to in 2009 are the new Fast and the Furious, X-men Origins, Transformers 2, Final Destination 4, and Saw VI. Some other good movies that are coming out are Pink Panther 2, Friday the 13th, Star Trek, Bruno, and the new Harry Potter movie. It should be a good movie year for 2009.

Somehow I don't expect anything good from Harry Potter movies. I prefer Narnia when it comes to movies.
