What do you think is the better college plan? Going to a four year college the whole way or starting with community college?

i would go to a local community college and then transfer later in every college you have a certain generals you have to get out of the way, be it math, english... whatever. going to a community college is a cheaper way to get those over and done with before you start to take classes concerning your major. your going to get the same education and earn the same credits you would at a state or private college and save money while your doing it. =]

I had the same concerns before i graduated high school. After asking multiple people and asking them about colleges and their experiences alot who went to 4 year universities were kind of dissapointed because they could have gotten just as good of an education at a community college as a university without spending all that money. People seem to be really thrown off by the word "community" college. But the truth is, you are saving sooooo much money and getting a great education none the less. Plus if you decide that your major isnt really what intrests you it is easy to change it in community colleges than just waste all that money. It's a hard decision. I can say that i am going to a community college right now, and it is better than a University, it was almost actually made into one its ranked supprisingly high. But if you do find a university that has all your interests and is good with your finacial situation go with it, starting at community college is just as great though...and really does save you alot of money :)

A good reason to start off at a local community college is because the tuition is much less expensive than at a large 4-year university. I am in my sophomore year right now and started at the university, but I was very lucky because I received a partial scholarship due to my high school grades, otherwise I would have probably gone to my local community college until my junior year. There is nothing wrong with starting at a community college because you still meet other people and get a taste of college life. XOXO

That all depends on the person really. I say going to a four year college the entire time is the best, simply because by the time you get hard classes, you aren't stressed trying to make your way around campus, finding out who the good teachers are, and trying to learn all about the place. I chose a smaller university that is about 5X cheaper than any of the other big colleges and its great. I'm at a University, but it's not going to put me in debt. I also have classes that are smaller. My biggest class was 65 students, my smallest with 3. All of my teachers know me by name, much like high school where you can get one on one help when and if you need it.
