As I drove to get my wife from work the other day I noticed many Christmas trees along the streets for garbage pick up. The next afternoon I spotted this awesome appearing ice crystal on my back door window of my house. I think it looks like a pile of discarded Christmas trees. Amazing how this showed up this time of year I think. What do you see in this crystal?

I see the exact same thing as you. The colors are so pretty also. I do agree with you about the coincidence with seeing that picutre in the ice crystal right now with all the trees out at the curb or being mulched or put up for next year.
Down here we can either put our tree out front to be picked up or take it to a place where they mulch them up and you can take the mulch home or if you don't need it they keep it and they also give you a seedling pine tree in return, and also the ones picked up at the curb the city takes to Padre Island to use to catch the blowing sand and to make and also protect the sand dunes.

Thanks again.
I love how just the flash alters the color with just a little tweaking or a finger slightly covering the flash. I try a lot of different things to get a different view of the things I shoot. The garbage companies pick ours up free of charge. Some companies then donate them to the DNR and they use tem as cover for fishes in local lakes. Recycling at it's best I think.

Bob what an exquisite photo. I love the formations that Old Jack Frost leaves on our window. They can be so delicate.

I had 2 formed just before the holidays. One was shaped like a Christmas
tree and the other shaped like a wreath. Awesome timing on those as well.

I love the fact that shortly after taking this
photo this area was completely different looking.

What a beautiful photo...It sure does look like chrismas trees..
Here they have a place to recycle the trees and put them in the lakes for fish nesting...something like that..

I Love how you capture all of these images and colors in your pictures. Yes, these do look like discarded trees, and definately worth looking at. Thanks for sharing these photos.

We have a fake tree so we do not discard the tree. I will rate and respond to your photo when I post this discussion. I think it is amazing it showed up the day after you saw all those trees. Do you suppose you are haunted?

Hi Grandpa Bob! Yes, I see the same thing but they still look amazing. The different shades of crystal-like color makes them more beautiful. I guess, in everything that seems to look like a waste, there is still some beauty in it if we just look a little closer.
Take care! Have a beautiful day!

Hey Grandpa Bob! This is a really great catch! The picture
really does look like a bunch of Christmas trees! I like
the way they look all piled up and are different colors! It
is so amazing! I can't believe that I am looking at ice crystals!
If you didn't tell me that this was ice crystals I would have
no idea! How do you look at these things on the window and see
them so clearly and are able to get a shot of them so quickly
before they change?
