Yesterday it was reported how a 13 year old girl that is both mentally and physically delayed in growth was missing from a parking lot at a library my daughter and I used to go to.She had a history of running off and hiding in small places. She was wearing a tracking bracelet that was kept on her wrist for her safety in the library parking lot yesterday. The bracelet appeared to be cut of her arm.Because of it being suspected that she ran of again they did not put an amber alert out.
I don't think this little girl could have cut that because she only had the mental capacity of a 6 year old.
Today her body was found about 8 miles a way in a creek bed.
.Then an hour later they announced that they suspect that she was murdered!
I think that if they had put out an amber alert out that would of helped find her before she was killed. Also, they did not even announce on tv that she was missing for 36 hours!
What do you think? Do you think earlier media and the amber alert would have saved her? I do.

If she has the mind of a 6 year old then why is a "6 year old" ever alone at a public place? Especially when she is known to run off?

She wasn't alone. While her and her mom were in the library it started raining and the girl only had a sweater on.Her mom was trying to hurry and ublock the car door so the girl wouldn't get too wet.The girl was right beside her and she opened the door to let the girl in and she was gone.

She would have been found in time before the monster had killed her. They did knew that she had the mental age of a six year old, and not that of a thirteen year old, so the idea of her cutting off her bracelet was ridiculous. If they had sent out the amber alert at once, the outcome would not have been tragic, but now they will have to wait until another little girl disappears. Someone who preys on a little girl like that thirteen year old is someone that should be captured and executed as soon as possible.

Yeah, the thought of her cutting her own bracelet off is redicolous! I don't think the person should be executed.Put them in prison with no protection from the other inmates and let him/her be tortured like they did the little girl.Prison inmates hate people who have been put in there for hurting or killing a child and will hurt them.

I don't care if I thought my kid just ran off or not I would still make sure an AMBER ALERT got out there. It is a shame that they did not bother with the AMBER ALERT. It may or may not have saved her life, but at least they would know they had done everything they could to save her.

This is sad I could just imagine how her parents and the people who are in charge of putting out the amber alert are feeling. It puzzles me who would not put out an alert for a missing child at the first hour and then for the child to be mentally and physically challenged you would think they would put out an alert with the first half hour. I don't know it's probably more to the story.

That is so sad. When a child is missing, it should not matter, put out the alert!! You are right they may have found her. Why must we always assume.

I am with you her if they would have put out an Amber Alert and had earlier media would have helped. She could have been found before she was hurt. I bet her Mother is spitting nails and mad as can be. Sometimes they ought to have their but whooped for stuff like this. I mean whoever did not think an Amber Alert was needed. Is it not a law that you cannot report anyone missing util they have been missing for 3 days? If it is a law, does it apply to children also?

It is not supposed to apply to children. And I thought even for adults it was 24 hours?
It is just sad. When I heard she was missing my daughter and I were devastated and prayed that she would be found safe hiding like she has done before. But,God said no to our prayers
I guess he had his reason's.
I hope that that little girls parents (adopted) sue the police.
I hope also that they find the jerk that killed her,put him or her in jail with no protection from the other inmates.
Inmates do not like anyone that is put in jail for harming a child.

It is a crime that the alert was not sent out quickly. It may not have done anything to save her, but that is something we will never know. The authorities should be held responsible for their negligence in this. It is time for people to wake up and realize that our children need to be protected much better than they are in the world today.

Do you think those Amber Alerts help? I mean, if I saw a girl running around and kind of looking like something might be wrong with her, I think I would be alarmed. Then again, I don't know if someone would actually suspect that someone was looking for her. I can't say if that would have helped her. That's a shame, though.

yes,I think the Amber Alert helps.
If I saw a child running around like that I would surely think that someone was looking for her.If no one was looking for a child like that then I would think something was wrong with her parents or the police in this case.
