Hello my lotters! I just wonder if many mylotters need a visa to travel to any country that they wish to go. I mean do you have to apply for a visa if you want to go on a week holiday to another country? Have you had an experience of applying for a visa? How was it? I will be delighted to hear your story.

I can travel around in Europe without applying for a visa. I don't know if the rule are still the same, but when some years ago when I travelled a lot, I was able to stay 3 months in each country without a visa. If I want to visit countries outside Europe I often need a visa. I would like to visit Russia in the future and I know that I need to apply for a visa in order to go there, and the same goes for many other countries. The rules are very different, so I have to check to rules of each country that I want to visit.

First time I travel was I do for job so I need a working visa, then when we got vacation in China, I apply to a visit visa, but when we stop over in Thailand I don't need to apply visit visa, they have visa that can give you upon arrival if you wanted to stay there and it is one month granted..... They are some nationalities that they can go in one country without visa for visit purpose, because they granted a visa upon arrival... like US, UK and some rich country... The Filipino's can't take visit visa easily because we are source of man power, so they avoid a person to use visit visa to find Job in other country... then after expired the visit visa they stay illegal. So it that what one country avoided to grow the illegal migrates.

I have a British Passport and I will be going to South Africa in four days time. I don't require a visa to go there I am pleased to say. I have needed a few visas in my life time. At age 18 I needed to get a tourist visa for Hungary. When I was 20 I got a working holiday visa for Australia. Then in my mid twenties I needed a visa for Jordan and so I got a passport stamp showing that I have been to Israel. At age 29 I got a working holiday visa for New Zealand and got approved to teach there. The one visa I wanted to get was Russian and it proved too expensive and bothersome. I will get one of those one day when I have more money.

Hi maximax8. Now I know where you're from. You posted a discussion before about going to the Philippines and all. I think that British citizens can often get visas easily same as in Ireland. Philippine nationals however are different and in most cases they are very expensive and difficult to ger. I hope you will eventually get the Russian visa soon. Have a nice day!
