I had the same problems. When it happened, I tried to tolerate that for a long time but their volume just got huge! so I went to their apartment and talked to them, the guy was very nice and they shut the music down immediately. But then, after a few hours, they start the music again. I was so angry, but I know I need to be polite to have a good relationship with them. So I made some cookies and went to their apt again with those cookies, they knew my meaning immediately when they saw me in front of the door and they apologized again. After that, their volume gets much better. I guess you should try my method to see what happens. Good luck!

I would just go over when you see they are home and talk to them. I would be very nice and as friendly as you can. It is better to try to maintain a friendly relationship than get defensive and angry. I would express your concerns such as hours, noise, etc. See what they say. Are they rules in the apt. complex or what is the situation there? I would find out for sure what your options are in that area and then you will feel more comfortable and secure in what you have to put out there. Good luck! I have had this type thing before and it can be a bugger to take care of but, it doesn't need to be.

they lives in the same house with me, but different floors. I don't think there are any official rules... I did drop by once and they promised not to do that again, but a couple of hours later, they rocked again... Thanks for the response anyway, I think I need to figure this out when I rent another apartment.

I would go over maybe next time you see him in the driveway or what ever, and nicely ask him if he could please stop playing at a certain time as you need to get your sleep. He may not realize that he is playing so loudly, and that he is disturbing you. If he refuses to comply you might have to call the police, but I would try the nice route first.

Are they making the noise in the middle of the night or in the day time. I would confront the neighbor about it first and see if they are willing to lower the music, especially if it is in the middle of the night. They should be understanding. If not, do you rent, if so I would confront the management about it if it is not first resolved with talking to the neighbor first.

thanks for the response. They usually play the music in the morning and end in the midnight. very distracting ;( I do not know why do not put their earphones on. Actually I tried once to drop by and asked them to turn down the volume, it worked for a couple of hours and then rocks again ;( frustrated.

Though my neighbours never make loud noise during night times, but they do, do things like throw things over the fence towards our side (the kids). To deal with that, we will confront our neighbours and politely tell them to stop their kids from doing so. I think you should try that approach first, as they are your neighbours, wou wouldnt want to have a bad relationship with them. If they still do not stop, then maybe you could take it to further measures? council? strata? police?

thanks, I know I should maintain a good relationship with them. So I dropped by once, they were very nice at that time and promised to turn down the volume, they did, but only for a few hours and the rock just starts again :(

I think that you should talk to them and try to solve the problem. As if you don't tell them, they're just going to keep on being loud. If you explain to them that you find that they're being too loud, you have a better chance of finding a solution, some sort of middle ground.

When the neighbpur makes loud noise, the best thing would be to ignore the noise, Protesting against it and fighting with the neighbour would be a waste of time because quarelling does not end and if a qaurell starts, then that qaurell could go on for eternity.
