Ever since the hubs left for parts unknown to work, I've been spending days, nay, weeks (!) on my own.
This is not good for proper eating habits and at my age I need to watch my calorie intake so that I don't fade away and become a mere stain on my couch.
Because I'm alone in the house, I keep the tv on all the time. I rarely pay attention to it, but I need the background noise or I'd wear out my small collection of CD's. lol
Anyway, lately I've found myself actually sitting down to watch Rachael Ray. I have found her meals of the day a real boost to my imagination when cooking for myself.
Today I had to shovel a LOT of snow and as a result my back is killing me, so I smoked some of my medicinal tobacco to dull the pain..............oh shut up! It works!
ANYWAY, while fixing dinner tonight, I had the most wonderful idea for a new cooking show.
I call it Second Childhood Cooking. Get it? SCC...
I figured it would go something like this:
Granny type figure in the kitchen. Sweet, smart, funny but obviously in that phase of her life and mind that medical professionals refer to as being in their 'second childhood'.
While babbling away to the camera about what she was doing, every once in awhile she would stop, turn off camera and say something like "Put that back, no sneaking!" and then continue on as if nothing happened until the next time when she'd do something like reach out and slap the air, or taste something and then offer the spoon to her.........yep, you guessed it, HER IMAGINARY FRIEND!
Can you picture it? I can.
But then, I'm sure when I wake up tomorrow and am 'straight and sober' again I'll have second thoughts about this idea, or have forgotten it completely! ROFL
Who wants to write the first script?

Well I figure, I'm at that age (again) where I really enjoy my imaginary friends, so there MUST be more people like me out there right? ROFL

hummm, interesting sparks. It sounds like fun and I know many would watch this just to see what's going to happen next. If she talks to herself and answers herself, how funny would that be?
I don't have a script for you. She could make some cookies or thing for diabetics, not anyone that I know does things for them in cooking shows.

Well, since I have come to the point in my life I'd rather not cook more than I have to, I don't think I'd be a good one to write script. In my first childhood, probably all I could make was peanut butter sandwiches! Oh, there was a time when we 'stole' food from the refrigerator (bacon) and potatoes, a small skillet, and went to the woods below us. This would be my younger brother and me. We took the things in the woods (actually close to our home), dug a little hole, made us a fire, and cooked bacon and potatoes. Man, did we think we were doing something. And we 'thought' we were taking this without our Mother's knowledge. Oh, sure!
By the way, I never had an imaginary friend when I was in my first childhood. Now, I can't tell you I won't have one in my second childhood. Heck, I already talk to myself. Well, I've been doing that for years. Don't we all?

Brilliant AmbiePam........we could organize some of our more senior mylotters to do short videos each (create a whole series) for U-Tube and share the fun and hopefully profits. ROFL What a hoot!

Yep, a 'stoned' epitome (did I spell that right?) always sounds quite brilliant at the time. And often are, too, amazingly. Especially yours for some reason. But at least you were smarter than most and wrote it down so you won't forget it.
I think it sounds awfully cute myself. Run it by CBC or NBC. You never know. Seinfield, 'a show about nothing' has had an amazingly good run so far.
