Caught with their pants down!!

On purpose, it seems. In keeping with the annual "No Pants Day" begun by an improv group, approximately 1200 people in NYC participated in wearing no outer leg wear on the subways. The idea has spread nationally, so NYC wasn't the only host - just the largest, I'm sure. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/weird/Undeground-Pants-Down.html How would you feel if you got on a bus or train and found that most of the people therein were wearing no pants on a cold winter day? Would you stay on board or would you turn around, get off, and wait for the next one? Apparently, there is no message being sent - just something goofy to do once a year. If a bunch of old guys calling themselves 'polar bears' can jump into the freezing ocean every year, why not take a day to just wear underwear?? What do you think?

I think it would be scary. Not everyone has the best underwear for this type of message and it could easily become indecent exposure. I don't think I would get off the train or bus. After all, if there are a bunch of nut cases on this one then probably the next one as well.

OK - I have so much to do I haven't commented on anyone's response - but I feel compelled on this one. Indecent exposure? As cold as it is outside, I would think that Richard and The Boys would have sought refuge indoors and simply not be anywhere visible no matter what. Unless they have to do braids for maintenance purposes - then perhaps there could be some "exiting the barn". Or if they wore tissue-paper thing things like my father used to wear which left NOTHING to the imagination (yes - you can imagine the damage on a young child's psyche). Thanks for responding!

I would continue on my journey on the same train I would not make a storm in a tea cup. If people want to travel on a cold day with their underwear and they feel its fine for them than thats fine.

Sounds corny to me but since it's not hurting anyone, then doesn't bother me. If I had to choose, I'd rather go without pants for the day than plunge into 20 degree water. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I got chills just thinking about it.

Hello, jerzgirl. That is certainly a strange event to happen, isn't it? I mean, people are always ashamed of this and that, but when everybody gathers together, we are all just a bunch of kids, aren't we? People would do anything to look different, to have a bit of fun, to get off the routine. I wouldn't turn away nor anything, I'd just act normal. Perhaps even take my pants off. It must be fun. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

all i can think of is the old mother's saying about the non-holey underwear in case you get in an accident? i wouldn't care if someone did honestly, but i may not stand next to them on the bus. i'd probably wonder how they could stand that in new england cold, however.

It wouldn't have bothered me..I would have figured it out seeing that many people, that it was something they were doing like a skit or such..but its so cold there i would have offered a blanket or scarf for anyone that looked cold..

Hey jerz! I think that whoever is brave and crazy enough to go without clothes on a day like this should be locked up somewhere! It is way too cold to prove any kind of point no matter what they call this day! I think the "polar bear club" has more sense! At least they jump into the water that is warmer then the temps outside (well until they get out of the water)! But, walking around in your "whatever"! No thanks! Not for "no pants day"! What is the point other than to freeze your ????? off!

Did you catch the poor guy hanging upside down on the ski lift in Colorado? His pants were off, and somebody took lots of pictures of him and put them on the internet.

forgive me but why would anyone want to take offtheir pants on a freezing day. I just don't get it like I don't get 'jeans day' whatever. I honest;y don't see the point of being frozen whilst riding on a subway. Well, as my Irish grandmother would say "Each to his own said the old woman as she kissed the cow". I've never eally understood that one either!

Wel I think this is definately a good way for these people to get some attention which seems to be what they want. I don't think that I personally would get on a bus or train with a bunch of pantless people on there. I think I would be one of those people who turns around and waits for the next one,LOL. I guess I'm just not comfortable with people enough to be able to join in,LOL.
