A Murderer's Organ Could Save Your Child Would You Allow It?

I actually got this idea from Gray's Anatomy. If you child were dying, lets say the doctor gave them about a month to live, and an organ donation would be needed in order to save him or her. There is a convicted murderer in the same hospital is about to die or just did die. They have offered their organ the one that is needed by your child to your child. The organ will be available in 48 hours. Do you allow them to put it in your child, or do you take your chances and hope another organ becomes available before your child takes a turn for the worst?

I would absolutely use it. I'd think of it as something bad turning into something good. It's not like putting a murderer's kidney into another person is going to turn them into a psychopath.

That's an interesting question! I think I would feel very uncomfortable about it but if it meant my child would have another chance at life I couldn't say no to it, I don't think many people could. I wonder if people are told who the organ is being donated by?

Oh, doesn't this weeks Grays look great! Anyways, absolutely I would take anyones organ if it would save my childs life. The only organ that would make me think twice would be the heart because I think tht alot comes from someones heart, but in the end I am sure that my childs life would be more important to me than how it was saved.

Of course I would use it. It isn't like the kid is going to turn into a murderer because he got an organ transplant from one. That kind of stuff only happens in the movies...

I would allow my child to take the organ. I don't think that the organ contains the same evil qualities that the murderer has. It would offer the murderer a chance to do the right thing. The life of my child would take priority over my personal feelings toward the person who is donating the organ.

I'd definately use the organ to save a childs life. The child isn't going to turn into a murderer because they have got the organ from one.

as long as its from a human being who is healthy & the organ is fine, i would use it just to save the life of my child. it doesn't matter what the status of the person it came from.

Why not if it is the only way to save my child's life? I don't think it has bad effect on my child's personality. I mean, my child will surely not inherit the murderer's personality. Instead, the murderer's organ will be a way for my child to live longer.

Yes, and without hesitation, as long as the organ was good and clean go for it, it is the intention in crime not the organ in crime. But I can just imagine it now, " the liver made me drunk officer I swear!"

Why not? If it's the life of a love one, I dont mind my ego and pride as long as I could save the life of my love. Even if it will came from a Hitler reincarnation, I do not care. But hey! If he's a murderer or a criminal in general and he donate an organ, that will only mean that he still have a kind heart..

I will definitely go in for organ transplant because a murderer's organ is also made of the same stuff like any other person's organ.First of all he is a human being and might have murdered somebody in circumstances beyond his control. So i will go ahead with organ transplant.

When it comes to saving a child's life anything possible should go. I don't believe a person's qualms or problems should affect their ability to give the gift of life. You never know the life saved could go on to make a dramatic difference in the world. I think no matter what the donor did, they should be genuinely appreciated for that act of kindness. However, I don't think I would let my child know that the donor was a murderer. A child's psyche is extremely fragile; let alone an already sick child, so I would leave that part out. I wouldn't want the child to develop negative "vibes", or feelings toward the donated organ thus leading to a higher percentage of the body rejecting the organ.

I would definitely use it to save my child if the family of the convicted murderer offers it. There's nothing morally wrong using the organ to save another life.

absolutely, i would allow it its my daughter or son if that was the case. As long as it was a good organ and the murderer allowed it to happen. If he wanted to try and make up for a killing by saving a life that would be just fine with me

I would take it in a heartbeat. My child's life is way more important than anything else in the world.

They made a horror movie about this before Gray's Anatomy did a episode on it. The movie was called Body Parts and starred Jeff Fahey from Lost. I think he plays the helicopter pilot in the show.

Yes I would use it! It's the spirit or mind that makes a person, not the organs. The organs are just a "spare part" and most people would do anything for their children. I know I would.

Well,I shall take the one-time-offer as I realize I will never get the chance and at the same time maybe I had helped the convicted murderer enter the heaven for doing a good deed in this mortal world.

Depends, is the organ damaged? If it isn't I would use the organ. Murderer or not, he might save the child.
