Shelly is so excited now that she is in this new house and has a new stove to cook on. She has invited a couple of her female friends over to have a late lunch/early dinner. She picked today because it is my day to be gone from the house in the afternoon and hide at the bowling alley She has made lots of plans for her meal and the dessert (cheesecake) and is so excited I heard her humming a tune a little while ago So, when is the last time you invited friends over to your place in the afternoon for a ladies get together?

I don't have this option I am a caregiver to my husbands brother who is handicapped and I would never lock him in his room and unfortunately that's the only way it could be done in my house. That's great that Shelly is so well cared about. Good job my friend!!!

Hey fwidman! I think that is really nice that Shelly is going to have a luncheon get together! It is nice to have the girls over once in awhile! It's good that you have a place to go and "hide" for awhile too! I haven't had a ladies get together in a long time! I guess mostly because my girlfriends don't really know each and I don't know how they would mix together. I actually had not even thought about it before. Some of them work and some of us don't so that would be another issue. I will have to think about this now that you've mentioned it!

You're never going to know how they'll mix if you don't put them all together If the food is good and there's dessert, I'm sure all the women will be happy

Once you get everything settled down, it might be nice to have an official house warming party

Hi, Tamara I got out of the house more than half an hour before the guests showed up, I was safe Can't your hubby find some place to hide for an afternoon?

I do not have a lot of room here at all, in this little mobile home to entertain guests. I am hoping to get to move. Then I will be able to invite some folks over. A party would be awesome.

I'm actually a guy and the last time i called in my friends for lunch was during last may and it consisted of three girls and two guys and we had a good time and it was really good having them at home and i felt happy that i was able to serve them in my house itself..in the same month itself we had a get together in another of my friends house where there were more people than the ones that came to my house but i really didnt enjoy over there since there were people whom i really dont like... Happy Mylotting

If the company had been mixed I could certainly see staying home. But I m not likely to stick around when it is all women, especially since they are all Shelly's friends, not mine

You reminded me of how guilty I am of not inviting my girlfriends to my house for lunch or indulging in the latest gossips. But my time is so limited and the thought of this kind of get together has been unintentionally forgotten. Well, this is a good reminder and hopefully it can become a reality during this early part of the year.

me and my girlfriends are usually eating out if we met up. we haven't tried going to one house and someone will do the cooking. it could be because most of my friends are single and we still live in our parents house. This is a good get together to catch up on new things and have a girls day out. I bet everyone are excited for this lunch and with the cheesecake i bet everyone will have a great coffee and a slice of it. thanks for sharing.

It just feels good meeting up with friends ans having a nice talk with them. I find it so stress relieving for you can unload your sentiments and at the same time have a good laugh together with them . Thanks for the post and have a great day. Happy Mylotting!!!

Two Saturdays ago. I cooked pasta for two of my girl friends. One I missed so much for he haven't got the chance to be together since 2004. We make it a point to have our bondings, catching up with our friendship... I just hope that the other ones will make it for our reunion someday.

Ahhh! A picture of the future, the past... It would be nice to be comfortable to be able to work and be appreciated for my talents. The lady of the house could entertain as I do my fixing, rebuilding, work what ever is required. I would like to have things in better shape for such an occasion, it all comes down to assets. There has to be plenty of assets. I have the ultimate party picnic table, 14 feet long... That'll seat a couple of friends with ease. Maybe more like a couple of families... :) I have to finish up a couple of projects, but it could be a great summer with the pool and the grill all I need are the two missing elements...

That's a rather large picnic table! Yep, it could seat several families, with not too much hassle
