hi all! nowadays, mobile phones are a must for most people in this modern-day era. we crave for effective and reliable communication everywhere we go. plus, with today's new technologies, the latest mobile phones can do more than just do calls and send SMS. there are some who also have AM/FM radio, play mp3, act as PDAs, act as alarm clocks, surf the internet, check email, and so on... but, can you still remember the time when you had your very first mobile phone? i do. my very first mobile phone was bought in 1996. it was a Motorola TeleTAC 250 AMPS/NAMPS network analogue cellular telephone that was tied with an Extelcom prepaid subscription called Cellcard. cellular telephone service in the Philippines was very young at that time and it was a boon that Extelcom launched a prepaid account service and a slightly cheap phone kit. it was just a very simple mobile phone that can just accept and receive calls. i was able to entertain myself by calling up a toll-free mobile news service called "STAR NEWS" by dialling *NEWS. although i'm now enjoying a lot of features from my three newer GSM cellphones, i still miss the days when cellphones were simple. =) i still have the Motorola TeleTAC 250 and i'm storing it in a dust-free container for sentimental reasons (Extelcom has shut down and all analogue networks in the country have folded up). how about in your case? what was your very first mobile phone? thanks and happy mylotting!

Hello There! My first cellphone was Alcatel. It was my uncle's gift for me when I was in college. My cellphone was kind of weird because it shaped like soap and it is color orange (as far as I can remember). It looked like a walkie talkie than of a cellphone though it is really small. It is only 2 liner for messages. No games or whatsoever but I really enjoyed using it because it was my first cellphone. It lasted for two years! My uncle thought of giving me a Nokia but he thought that it was expensive for me and I don't need an very expensive phone because I am still studying. Also, I really enjoyed that phone because I can call and text my friends! haha. THank you for the discussion and Happy Mylotting! Goodluck and Have a great day! Cheers!

Well, I'm fairly new to cellphones. I wanted once since I was about 13 or 14, but my mom said no we can't afford it. She didn't have one, either. So, I got my first one at 18 in October of 2005. It was a motoral V180. I didn't know much about phones. So, it was simple and had no camera. Just could do calls, texts, and emails. Not fancy. Not even a radio. I missed it becaused it was cute and small, but got bored of it quick. I have to change my phone every few months or years, I can't stand having the same one for too long.
