the colds this winter seem to have had some kind of super punch to them

honey, maybe rest with a lot of sleep. i think what makes your eyes blood shot now is being on mylot for long periods of time. rest them and keep them close for a long time even if you don't sleep, just close them , maybe that would help. take care.

Hmm... looks like the blood vessels in your eyes are working overtime. Try this method which I use for eyebags. Put two table spoons into the freezer. Let them sit there for about a good half hour. Then take it out, and place the spoons over your eyes. Let it stay there till you cannot feel the coldness. It may sting a little in the beginning. To prevent that stinging sensation, wet the spoons first before you place them on your eyes. That should help a little in reducing blood shot eyes. Cos the cold will reduce the blood vessels. That in turn will force the excess blood that is in the veins in your eyes to go back to the normal bloodstream. It should help. Try it. Cos this method is particularly good for eyebags and morning red eyes.

I think I have heard that you should put cucumbers over them....to relieve the redness and any swelling of the lid...

When my son's eyes used to get that way with allergies we used to tell him to put a warm wash cloth on them. It seemed to help out alot and they would stop hurting him without putting drops in them. I hope this helps you out.
