Why is some fashion and teens so gothic?

I saw at the store the other day that alot of the new style has skulls, and other gothic or vampirish mark on them. I find this disturbing and if I had a teen child, and I will in a few years, I don't think I would want them wearing things like that. Some kids look like they are dressed up for Halloween all year long. Is this what we want to promote, it seems a little like devil worship or something. I talked to one of my neighbors and they informed me that one of their children got in trouble a few years ago for "biting" and no they were not a toddler. This kid also wears the skull, black gothic look, it makes me wonder if all these fashions are healthy since it does promote vampires etc. I know everyone should wear what they want, but are they choosing to wear these things just for the reaction, and where do we draw the line since it is being promoted in stores. I find the whole thing kind of freaky and wierd and not attractive. I hope this is just a phase and not somthing kids are actually thinking is a good thing to look like.

Devil worship?? I'm guessing that you've never heard of Goths for God? look up gothsforgod.com I like the statement from their page "God does not see as man sees. Man sees the outward appearance and God sees the heart" Gothic is not about Satan worshipping nor is it wearing black all the time, but a lot of kids get into it trying to be something they arent and not knowing what its really about and thats where you get the ones who look just plain horrible. Educate yourself and your child on Gothic lifestyle. If the style is done right, it can actually be attractive. As far as the biting thing, thats something I'd definitly worry about because its just dangerous. There are people who really do believe they are vampires.
