I played with a Wii for the first time last night

We went to visit my husband's cousin over the weekend and they have a Wii. I've wanted one for ever because I just love the games on those things. I know if I get one though, I'll never put it down. So they're playing Mario Cart and everyone gets to take a turn playing the winner. My husband doesn't play games like this at all - I don't think he's every played Nintendo or anything. He had no clue what to do and didn't do too well. I didn't do very well either, but we sure did get a huge laugh out of it! Now I really want to get one so I can play it, but then I'll never get anything done around here, it's bad enough when I play my computer games and goof off in here.

I have to say that I love my Wii also. When we first got it I was hooked on the bowling, tennis and baseball that come with it. Last summer I finally found and got the wii fit to go with it and it is really fun. I haven't used the wii in about three or four months now. I need to get the wii fit out again and start using it but have to get it all hooked up to our new TV.

I have heard the Wii fit is AWESOME! But it's also supposed to be hard to find... I'm afraid the whole thing will cut into my pogo time though...

A lot of the games are supposed to be good for you, not just the Wii fit (which I would like to get also). I'd just end up playing it non-stop and never get things around here done - like they get done now????

The Wii has a ton of games you can play on it, and I'd end up getting a lot of them and playing all the time....

I have not played them, I am kinda like your husband. I do not do video games. Our clients play wii all the time, bowling, baseball and tennis to name a few. They have lots of fun and it does help them with fitness. There would be that.

A friend of mine said that the boxing is a great workout too. I can just see myself playing it until 3am and not getting any sleep...

Have you heard they are using the Wii for rehab in some hospitals. It helps with eye hand coordination and also gets people moving. they have bowling torments in retirement communities with the bowling using the Wii I want one, when you buy yourself one you can get one also.

Yeah, they are great for people in retirement communities. Studies have shown that people who play games are less likely to succomb to alzheimers. So, if I keep goofing off on the computer all the time I'll never get alzhiemers!!!

I tried a Wii for the first time on Christmas Eve as my sister's family has one. I can't play "the usual" kinds of video games because I have to deal with vertigo and get physically sick from the motion. It frustrating to me because I'd love to be able to play with the kids and such but I generally can't. On Christmas Eve, though, I was able to play skeeball on the Wii, since it's not a rapid motion game and my niece was impressed that I got the highest score of anyone that tried LOL I'm NOT useless at games... I just can't physically play them is all *grin*

That's awesome that you were able to play the game! Now you can enjoy some of the same things that the kids play. Have fun!
