Acai Berry Supplement

I recently ordered Acai Berry off the internet. I have a couple questions, if anyone knows the answers. The bottle says to take 3 per day. What would happen if I took more than 3 a day? It also says not to take it within 5 hours of bedtime. Why? It doesn't make me hyper or nervous. Does it really work for weight loss?

I can't see that taking more than 3 would be disastrous unless the concoction has other things besides acai. It's always best, however, to follow directions. It's almost certain that taking more won't mean that you'll lose weight faster (if you lose any at all because of it). I see that it hasn't yet been approved by the FDA as a weight loss aid. Although Oprah seems to recommend it, other people are more sceptical: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Diet/story?id=6434350&page=1 Basically, if you can't lose weight through a controlled diet and exercise, then you should see a doctor. All that the vast majority of 'weight loss' pills and potions really do is to help control your appetite and there are free (and probably healthier) ways of doing that!

I have noticed one thing. Since I started taking the pills I have noticed that I am not as hungry. I think the pills have lots of fiber! Probably why some people complain of constipation.

Fibre would tend to reduce constipation, if anything. It is more likely that some people get constipated through NOT taking enough fibre in their diet (because they have also changed it in the hope of losing weight). Acai berries have quite a high oil content, some vitamins and antioxidants. I don't know what the composition of the pills or capsules you are taking is. They have probably been processed in some way to 'enhance' whatever thing is supposed to help weight loss.

I just started taking it three days ago. I plan to weigh myself again on Friday and see if I have made any progress. I will let you know. The other thing is that I got plain Acai from an online store. Not the Acai Supreme that I was looking at on Ebay. That one had lots more stuff in it besides the Acai.

I saw a segment on the news that was talking about the acai juice. It said to take 2 oz in the morning and 1 oz in the evening. So that confuses me about the instruction not to take it near bedtime. Maybe it's not about keeping you awake, but about the 'don't eat right before bed' rule. I'm not sure how similar the product you have is to the juice, though. I would say be safe and follow the instructions. I have heard that the acai berry is very effective for weight loss, and is a growing trend because it also tastes good and has other health benefits, such as antioxidants.

I've heard of a lot of those kinds of supplements that will cause severe diarrihea if taken more than prescribed. These type of things are generally good to be careful with and I'd always take any of them with a grain of salt when it comes to weight loss.

The grain of salt may actually be better than the supplements, LOL
