Michelle Obama's fashion for the Inauguration

United States

Well, as I am sitting here watching history be made by the swearing in of the 44th President of the United States and the first black President, I am fully aware that we will hear plenty of talk of Michelle Obama's outfit for the morning. I feel that she has done a great job of picking a dress. She has on a golden/ yellow dress that seems fairly plain but says a lot about her. She is stylish but not extravagant. What do you think of it?

both dresses she has worn today were very pretty. i had hoped she'd wear more color to the balls but that was her choice.

I didn't see the dress that she wore to the ball. I figured that it would not be extravagant and that it might be a single color or with little flair to it. I will see it on the morning news I'm sure.

I seen the dress that she wore to the ball finally. It was plain white and I really didn't care for it. I thought that it would be much fancier than what it was even though she is very simple in her fashions.

Personally, I Loved what she had on, and felt she looked marvelous. I actually can see the style of clothing she chose coming in style big time as well. The look she chose as others have said did remind me of Kennedy's wife during her time as first lady minus the hat, so we have a classy first lady for sure.

I feel that she is more common dress style than Jackie was. Jackie was very classy, but I feel that she wore more expensive styles that what we see from Michelle. I know that she shops at Target and I think that is perfect as they have some great clothes.

I never look at the dress of the first ladies. I do not assume that she is a nice lady because of her ability to pick an outfit. I wait until I find out what she is like and I do research to find out what her opinions on certain policies. I did not judge Mrs. Bush by her dress nor did I by Mrs. Clinton'or the former Mrs. Bush's dress. I figured that they were all first ladies and it was their character that mattered, not in their style of dress. So I will judge Mrs. Obama by her character and not make an exception.

I don't juudge them by their dress either. I heard today that she has told the girls that they will still make their own beds every day and that they will have chores the same as when they were in Chicago and I think that says volumes about her style and character and the kind of mother she is. I hope to see the Obama's put family back into the perspective that it should be. There are too many kids wandering the street and not having any kind of parental supervision. It is time for parents to start taking some accountability to the actions of their children.

I think you are right about them looking good together. It seems as though they are geniunely happy together and that they have a mutual respect for each other. I am glad that they are in the White House and I hope that they can keep their family grounded while they are in Washington like they hope too.

I agree that elegant is one of the words that you could use to describe her style. The dress was so perfect and not overdone.

I think that she will be. However, where I think that Jackie was into the designer scene, I feel that Michelle is more into every day attire that most Americans can afford. It will be interesting as I know that she likes to shop at Target.

I have not seen it yet. I wish I didnt have to though. This is a big joke.

What is a big joke? The fact that she has to be watched by so many people who will judge her by what she wears? That is a joke. She is a wife, mother, etc, if she shows up with her hair fixed, makeup on, and dress in something other than jeans and a sweatshirt, she should be commended.

That's the first thing I wanted to see today, Michelle Obama's attire. Well, I just find it really simple, yet elegant. but I like Mrs. Biden's attire more than hers. I guess Mrs. Obama had been very careful picking her attire.

I didn't really pay any attention to what Mrs. Biden was wearing. I thought that Michelle done a great job picking out her dress and I am sure that she had to be careful as we know how the tabloids talk about fashion don'ts.
