your doctor? Today I did. And I was truly surprised. Today was my final appointment after my c-section. I was in and out no problems. My doctor got busy with another patient. But the nurses came out to have a look at my son. One of them hand me a bag. Inside, was a card and a box. The card read Congratulations and best wishes. Inside the box was a silver spoon engraved with "Special Delivery and my dr.'s name" Makes me wish I had her as my dr. when my daughter was born.

Yes, I do, not only once but on several occasions. Actually he is our family doctor. Most often when I bring my son for check up, my son often goes home with some gifts from our doctor. I who often accompany my son during check up, also have received some items from him. This is probably why he has a lot of clients considering that he is very kind and of course a very good doctor.

Ahh, that is great now he will have a treasure to keep and I think it is great that your Doctor was kind enough to do such a thing. You must have been special because I have never heard of a doctor giving a card much less a gift. The only thing I have known doctors to give is a hard time and a few samples..lol

I think that is a very good business practice. It probably isn't intended that way by the doctor. If I were a doctor who delivered babies, it would probably be because I thought new life was wonderful. I think it would be natural to give some small gift to the new parents. You have, after all, just charged a lot to their insurance company so some small sign of congratulations for their new child shouldn't seem like an undue burden.

That was really nice of your Dr. The only gift I've gotten is from a dentist. He gave me a toothbrush LOL.

I can't say I have ever gotten a gift from a doctor unless you would count a free sample of medication as a gift. That is a really cool thing that your doctor does.
