Taking Advantage

How did the rich get richer? Hmmmmmmm, let me think! Probably because they took advantage of the little guy's in the company, the customers, other companies, the IRS.Then when they end up in a spot they go to the government in their private jets to get a bail out loan! He**,I don't even have a car. A few years ago I heard on the news where a man got a job at this company that did not give medical insurance and then a while later when his little boy was diagnosed with cancer the man went to his boss and asked if he would get medical and the boss said no.The man got desperate and skimmed money from the company to pay for medical bills in hopes that somehow his son would be saved. The boss found out and pressed charges and the man was put in jail. While he was in jail his son died because he was no longer getting the kimotherapy. Then they would not even let him out of jail to go to his son's funeral. All his boss wanted was to get richer. He chose to keep the money it would cost him to give his employees health insurance.Maybe that boy would still be alive. He was only six!

Our brains are linked together tonight. This is the second time tonight that we were thinking the same thing. Maybe when President Obama said for us to work together maybe it hit us.

I would think the man could have gotten his own medical insurance unless his son already had cancer. If he waited until the boy was diagnosed, it would have been too late. I do think that the company should have had an insurance program, but it also depends on how large the company is. And he should have looked for a job in another company. But most of all, he should not have stolen from the company. He could have asked for a loan and offered to pay back. I think that there are things that one could have done in hindsight. As for how rich get richer, I suppose in investing, and being careful of their money, but lot of it is the right kind of luck. But then there are the greedy ones who do not offer medical insurance. After all, they only have to pay half - it is not as if they had to pay the whole shot.

That is so sad. I agree that the rich get richer because they keep everything for them selves and they do not do what is right for the people that got them there to begin with.

You are so right.I did not think of that,"they got them there in the first place".In our area,I don't know if they have moved into other areas. It is a chain. There is a restaurant called "Five Guys".A retired Washington Redskin owns part of the business. They have a typewritten sign near where you pick up the food and also on the drink machine that says that they would not be here if it was not for their customers. That is their priveledge to serve us.

Well as sad at that story is no insurance company is going to cover a preexisting cancer patient they know the cost and they don't have to. But your in business to make money so don't hold a grudge. It is not really him. It is the ones that make a million a year and then still try to skim because it is not enough. Since when was a million dollar salary not enough to make it on in the year.

If the boss had had the insurance in the first place that would not have been the case.Yeah businesses are out to make money, but it should not be at other peoples expense! I am sure that if he was making a million dollars then he would of had medical.

I hate people who take advantage of others. I hate my previous employer One Global Contact Center located in Ortigas, Pasig City Philippines. I wanted them to get bankrupt because they only take advantage with their people. I am not ashamed to post the company name because I really hated it!

It is sad, but I think we will be seeing it alot more now. I can see where the guy was coming from. He was wrong, but I am sure alot of us might do the same thing for a reason like that. We never know until we are in that situation. There are alot of greedy people out there, but I guess that is how they live so high and mighty.

I agree with you 100%.. The little people, or most of us, are the ones who foot the majority of the bills and the over spending that our government does.. The banks, the utility companies and everyone one else who can get their hands in our pockets will do so, without any concern or caring as to who they hurt.. There are many situations in that we can do better for ourselves but that isn't always so, sometimes life hands out situations that can overwhelm us and we don't know what to do or where to turn.. A lot of people are having it rough and I can imagine that this is not the only time that a scenerio like this has played out in someones life, it is sad but so true..
