In many discussions I have seen many responses about how President Obama is not doing right because he speaks of us coming together no matter who we are.We all know that the Obama's are christian's .God's word tell's us not to push away people. One of Gods ten commandments is to love thy neighbor. It does not say, love they neighbor if they are christian,if they are white,if they are are not gay.I live in the Washington,DC area,Redskins territory. And a few years ago I was passing a methodist church and on their sign the minister had put "Love thy neighbor....even if they are a Dallas fan."I was laughing so hard I had to pull over! You get it,We are to get people of other beliefs closer to use and trust our ways, the hopefully they will believe in Gods word also.

Thanks.I am glad that you understood what I said.In some of my discussions some people do not understand me. We go to a small baptist church and it has one of those signs. And our pastor is always putting these great messages on there. When,I tell people where my church is they say,"Oh,the one with all those cute sayings on it!" I have hadd some people that say they pass there going to work and when it changes they call a family member or friend on a regular basis and tell them what it says.

Loving God does not mean that we cannot speak against evil or say what people are doing is God like. You think that Obama is a Christian? Will a Christian be likely to sign a hate crime bill that is being introduced into the senate and which will be used to silence Christians? Will a Christian be likely to sign a bill getting rid of the law making it all right for some states to be pro-life? Will a Christian give homosexuals more privileges and be for same gender marriages? Will a Christian approve abortion from conception to birth? Will a Christian tell homosexuals that they can practice their physical relationships and God will still allow them into heaven? We can still love our neighbor, but our love should be trying to keep them from sinning. We should not be silent. You heard of tough love. We need it now. I will wait and see what happens, and if you find that your Christian neighbors being kicked out of their jobs or the police hauling preachers to prison for speaking out, do not come crying to me. You picked him.

I did not say anything about keeping silent! We need to get them close to us to turn them around and keep them from sinning. If they don't get it then they have to face God in the end not me or you. President Obama just became president at noon yesterday EST and that makes it a bit over 24 hours,he had a luncheon,a parade,10 balls to go to when did he compose and sign all these bills?Abortion is already legal. The constitution says there is the act of freedom of speech,so how will a preacher go jail for speaking? It is illegal and in writting on every job application that you cannot be discriminated against for your religion and other things. So,how will my christian neighbor loose their jobs? President Obama has said many times before and again yesterday that not everyone is going to agree with everything he does.He totally admits that. So, he probably will do some things that I don't like.I didn't agree with everything that my husband did or thought and he did not agree with everything I did or thought, but we did not seperate or get a divorce. He picked me and I picked him!

Dawgrath, My way is what is right for me.Of course each person believes their way is the right way. But,a lot of times people will find that some aspects or all aspects of another persons beliefs or ways will blend into their life just fine.

How do you know that your way is the right one? I'm curious because I've seen so many people (like millions) saying their way is the best and the others are wrong. Which one is the right one?

You are right. I think that we should try and like all people no matter who they are or where they go to church or anything. We should all try and get along. I dont have any bad feelings against other people and what they believe in. If more people concentrated on the good in people there would be a better place to live I think.

Love thy neighbor. That does not mean marry them, live in the same house, hang out with them or let them be mentors to your kids.Like in my case,I am christian,I know people that are Hindu and Muslum.Maybe if they are around me and I can get them to see that my life is not so bad, they will listen to me about Gods word. And if they don't,they don't.They will need to deal with God in the end,not me or any other christian.

I think Obama will do good for all of us no matter what. It will just take some time to do. We must at least give him a fair chance.

My question to you is, do you love me because you want to, or do you love me because God says so? Cause I do it without any obligation and I don't do it for a nice spot in heaven ;)

I love you as a neighbor, another human being, which I believe is what God wants. And that makes me want to. I cannot love you on a personal level because I do not know you.I have met some people on here that I love as a friend on a personal level, because I have known them for a while and have had many discussions with them, as well as personal emails and phone calls.

Of course I wasn't talking about intimate love, I don't even know you, hehe :P The question was if you love me because you're afraid of a superior being that might send you in a nasty place or you love me because you like to be nice to everyone? I guess you kinda answered to that question...

Oh no,what I was saying by "personal level" ,as a friend.I did not mean intimatley.I guess sort of both.I try to be nice to everyone. But,I am only human and if someone really does something to tick me off.I may not like them. But,yes God want me to like everyone and if I am a major sinner He can send me to "not such a nice place". I like warm weather, but that's going a bit far!
