is helpful with the younger ones? My daughter was up 15 minutes early this morning. With help from my hubby, dressed and at the table eating in short order. Now she is 5. So this is a big deal. I and promised her last night that she could help feed her brother. And she was quick to remind me of it.
She finished feeding him his bottle this morning while I threw on my clothes to take them to her bus stop. I actually got 30 seconds to breathe this morning. And she had this BIG GIRL "look mom, I can handle this" look on her face.
How do the older kids help out?

wow... that was so sweet of your daughter.
my daughter was 2 years older than her brother. whenever my son has an assignment and if my daughter was finish with hers, she helps him with his, and vice versa, my son also helps his sister with her assignments especially when they have almost the same topic. i'm moved, whenever i see them helping each other. and its so nice to see them that way. it makes me feel very happy.

I only had one child so it is hard for me to answer this question. I am sure that she would have helped me with little ones though. She loves kids.

That is good she is wanting to help. It will be very helpful as he gets older and starts to crawl or you need time to "breathe" for a minute or two. I think that is the right step in the right direction to let her help alot of parents won't let the kids help and that can at times alienate them and make them feel bad and I feel that everyone should let them help if they want to even if it is helping change the baby or getting a bib or blanket..it helps them bond and not feel left out.

I have an older child. But he isn't to helpful with the younger ones. He never has. As he has always been jealous of them.

hey how are ya, long ago when my kid's we young, boy and girl 1 year apart my daughter helped my wife all the time with chris and when he gave my wife some bad mouth viki would jack him up. viki was tomboy city and would keep chris in line as youmg kids do sometimes, well all of a sudden chris grew like a rocket #1 put viki in a closet and locked the door then went down for breakfast i guess they were 6-7 maybe at the time #2 wifey poo starts tilting her head listening to something ah ha knocking, who's there, no-one at the door and chris is just laughing his butt off, well anyway long story short chris was no longer viki's slave and to this day their still joined at the hip, both still crazy but closer than ever. wait, just wait, the best is yet to come, every day is an adventure.

Awww they are so sweet in your avatar, I think girls are more helpful than boys, my girl is three and she helps out with her older brothers, very bossy she is!! My elder ones just do not do much at all unless I bully or bribe them into it, they are boys though and are such lazy things at times lol!!

That is sweet. I hope your daughter continues to be as helpful.
