I am very excited for the arrival of my parents-in-law. They are based in Milan, Italy and they visit the Philippines once every year. My husband and I got married last year so I haven't spent much time with them. I am also excited because I want them to see their grandson, our baby boy. He is really adorable. Well, they have seen him over the webcam but it is really different if they see them in person. We, mostly our maid, already cleaned the house especially their room and fixed.
How about you fellow lotters? Do you have any relatives abroad? Do they visit you once in a while? What preparations do you do before they pay a visit?

We hardly ever leave the house to go and visit. My husband and I both work seven days a week alot of times. We visit my mom but that is about it.

Wow! That's really nice. You should visit more often. Anyway, I was out for the whole day because I was quite busy. In the coming days, I also will be doing alot of things but I will try to find some time for mylot. LIke now, it's already 3am and I still turned on my computer to be here.
Anyway, see you when I see you my friend! Happy lotting!

For your in laws, the focus might be your baby, so talking whatevr about your baby will be fun for them, and giving them a chance to have direct contact with the baby has been their dream. To avoid unnecessary cultural conflict or generation gap, better make known in a polite way before hand your established routines to handle the baby.
In my understanding, Italian is a nation of very good family traits, and overwhelmed with enthusiasm in people relationship. Do your best to show and express your respect, and kindness to make their stay a pleasant one.
It is also fun to show them things that your town is known for, so that they can experience something different that is unlike where they came from. Seeing new and different things is always a spark of some good conversation. The best time is when they have chat with their son and daughter in law. So make a good in law and let them be proud of their son.
