AARRGGHHHH!!!!! I just got home from running errands this morning, and while putting things away, I thought God My arm hurts, got to looking at it in the area where your elbow is, the nice soft underside of it, is all nice and red and swollen and itchy, and sure enough it's a FRIGGIN SPIDER BITE!!!!! GGGRRRR!!!!!!!!! I hate those things! Don't ask me where the darn thing came from or what kind of spider it was?? I rarely ever see them before they bite me!!! I've had so many of these things over my lifetime I could spit "webs" !!! If you've never yourself experienced a spider bite they are not fun, trust me; I've also attached a photo of a great product I use for spider bites and so many more things, its called PRID... you can find it in your local pharmacy, you may have to ask for it as its usually behind the counter; But once you start treating your bite with this, it draws out the poison and its just really really good stuff; In fact I wrote an article on it on EHOW back in OCT?? somewhere around that time frame. I already have the headache, no nausea yet but that will come probably after I eat dinner LOL! mostly its a pain in the a$$$$$SSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! A spider bite in January, now that's a first for me I think?? stupid darn creatures! I hate spiders!!

LOL--Forgive me but I'm laughing here..awwww. You see number one I have no fear or dread of spiders...in fact I grew up in a background where my great-grandmother often said it was bad luck to kill a spider, so I've never killed one myself... I actually "save" spiders ...say I'm about to take a bath and turn on the water in the bathtub and I notice a spider in the tub...I gently pick it up and make a dash to place it in one of my plants...and no, never had one bite me...LOL I actually consider spiders lucky...but then maybe I'm a tad weird

They're sneaky little critters aren't they? So far I've been lucky and haven't been bitten by one for years now (knocking on wood as I'm saying that). I don't like them either, and there are big ones around my house that will actually chase me as if they want me for lunch or something. LOL!

If I lived somewhere where a spider chased me then I would move to another state. I am terrified of them, really terrified.

I never had a spider bite, there are not that many spiders around here, you should make sure that you are not allergic or the spider was poisonous, if you come down with a fever I don't think that is a good sign.

Hi Jan, I know I'm going to sound stupid, but do you live in Missouri Or Mexico? I know it's both but which is the city Now, I'm curious as to how to identify a spider bite. I've often suspected I'd been bitten by a spider some time during the night because I couldn't think of anything else that would have bitten me, but I don't know what a bite looks like. I hate spiders too!!!!!! leenie

HI Leenie: naw, you're not stupid LOL! Yes I live in Mexico, Missouri strange name for a town I know (G)! A lot of people always ask me are you from the country MEXICO??? ERrr nooo! Its a small town kinda North of St.Louis I am 90 minutes away from St. Louis, and If I were to travel west on Interstate 70 to Kansas City its about a 3 hr. drive for me and if you know where our Capital City is, Jefferson City I'm about an hour NORTH of it...( small do nothing town) is where I live (G)!! Yeah you gotta watch those darn spider bites and be sure to get yourself a can of this prid I mention here in the discussion, best stuff to use on them or a lot of other things like splinters or whatever you need to get out of your embedded skin or some nasty infection on your skin from a bite; Great STuff that Prid: Love it! I'm doing much better today, stupid crazy fever is gone for now, thank Goodness!! I hate it when my body just knocks me to the ground like that; take care now and watch out for those icky blasted spiders!! I never ever see the damn things when they bite me , sneaky little things aren't they?? UGH!

Oh, Jan! I'm so sorry about that! What a real pain that is! I remember years ago while living in Florida I woke up with about 7 or 8 spider bites on my left leg. At first I had no idea what these bites were. I finally realized they were spider bites ~ more specifically ~ brown recluse spiders. Well, I took a pin and punctured each bite and squeezed out the pus (that really hurt, but, I had to bear it ~ and believe me ~ I wasn't grinning either! LOL!) Anyway, I discovered that when the pus was cleaned out of each bite that the spider's venom had liquified my flesh and it looked like I had 7 or 8 bullet holes in my leg. Well, I filled each hole with vitamin E and covered each up with a bandaid. Within a few days my flesh had totally healed and filled up the 'holes' and as a result don't have any scars to show for it. Vitamin E is just great. I love it. That PRIM stuff you use sounds great too and I hope you heal soon, my friend. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Hi Kellyjeanne: Oh my goodness you had that many at one time?? Good grief! well did you spit out webs after that?? (really shuddering)) at this thought!! YEs I Love vitamin E I've never tried it on spider bites but after reading what you said I have no doubt it would in fact heal you right up and leave no scars, Prid does that too, heals up that hole the spiders chew on us and gets all that nasty stuff out, closes up the skin and Wa-La No scar!! watch out for those darn spiders that's awful to get that many at one time, one bite at a time is plenty....but eewwwEEWWW!!!

Sorry to hear you got a Spider bite. They are no Fun for sure, and since I am a Diabetic when I get one I really have to watch it. Thanks for sharing the information about the Medication you use, and hope that works good for you this time.

HI there Krause: I'm diabetic too, I've never had any bad reaction from using Prid even with my tons of medicines I take daily; Yes I swear by Prid its just such a great product, and really most people wouldn't think about using it on a spider bite for some reason I did many many years ago I guess I just had some sort of "brain fart" or something I don't know but I didn't want to wind up with a big scar like my Father has on his nose, when I was really really young he got bit on his nose and he has this really nasty indentation bitten scar right on top of his nose and the doctor's really back then had nothing to treat a spider bit with, he was sick as a dog for a long long time, to have a bite like he did in the area he did, I honestly don't know how or what kept him from winding up in the hospital or dying you know? its was too close to the brain and so many other things, the eyes, ( the nose) obviously and mouth, I just don't remember it too much other than he was very very sick from it for a long long time; pity we didn't have Prid around then or know about it; Take care good to hear from you;

I really, really, really hate spiders. I don't think I've ever been biten by one and I really hope I haven't because that'd really gross me out. In fact, just reading this post about you being biten by a spider is making me all paranoid now about the possibility of being biten. I really cannot stand them at all. I just wish they didn't exist. Creepy little things. I know people say they can't help it, they're just insects, that is bull. Creepy little things.

HI Angel: Yeah I agree creepy nasty things I detest them too! I rarely if ever see the darn things before they bite me but I seem to draw them out no matter where I live; I guess when they see me, they think HEY BUFFET FOR SURE LOLOL!!! I could be spider woman maybe?? don't dream about them tonight now, that would be bad, but if you ever do get bitten by one; Get yourself some prid and if you get a high fever do go see your Doctor A.S.A.P.!! and or do some research on them on the puter lots of helpful information out here; [b]I HATE SPIDERS!! I am not exactly fond of spiders myself. Why are these creatures so fond of you? The best way to deal with them is to use a vacuum cleaner on them. Suck them into the vacuum cleaner and toss them out. Show no quarter; they don't deserve it. Better still, set a cat on them. Mine loves hunting them! ;) Cheers and happy Mylotting

HI ya Positive; beats me why they like to bite me so much, I guess I just look like a big old buffet to them (G)! Yeah If I see a spider I'll kill it or as you say vacuum them up hahhaha! I love to do that! My silly cats do find them and try to catch them but I always worry that they too would be sick if bitten by one, so I shriek and yell at the cats to back away from them so I can kill it.... thanks for stopping by!!!

Hey jan! That is strange! Where the hell did the spider come from? I don't even see them in my apartment now! They probably decided to go somewhere where it is warmer! They don't want to be here and freeze with me! I have to write that name down since I am always getting bitten in the summer. Does it work for mosquito bites? That's my problem! I'm allergic to them and I blow up as soon as I get bitten! And nothing seems to work on that bite for me and I've tried just about everything! I hope you feel better soon! I guess there was some spider hiding somewhere waiting for ya! Nasty bugger!

HI {{Opal}} Beats the heck outta me where that nasty thing came from?? I am guessing when I was out at the farm, but who knows for sure? They are everywhere here where I live; I'd be happy to box up some and send your way (G)!! LOL! you know I've never tried the prid on mosquito bites but I"m guessing it would help out especially since you have such an allergic reaction to them, now see those I get too but they don't really bother me, they itch like crazy but I don't get red or blow up from them, but yeah you might try it and see couldn't hurt right? Yeah some nasty creature is always waiting around somewhere for me, but in the place I got bitten I'm guessing it was in my coat sleeve ( shudder) now that I DON'T like at all; I hate spiders!!!!

Have you ever seen a spider give birth? It is awful - especially if you are scared of them like me. years ago one gave birth on my bedroom wall. I was looking at this enormous spider in horror (although we do not have any poisonous ones on th Island)and it had a big belly and then suddenly it seemed like ther were hundreds of them running allover the place. Really a nightmare. I couldn't stay. I sprayed the room and went to sleep in with the children. I amso sorry that you got bit by a spider. I did once get bitten by a scorpion whilst in bed. And this only goes to show you that mother was right all along. One should be very careful with whom one sleeps!

HI Cynthiann: Yes I have seen that and its just staggering at the amount of those darn things that come out of them in a rush of speed, that happened to me once when I was still living out at the farm and found the big spider in the basement and was trying to kill the darn thing when it spit out all those itty bitty beastly little nasty spiders, boy did I shriek for sure then and was trying to find some spray to kill them all...(( big old shudder)) !!! I hate spiders!!! I really really do!!!

I can not stand spiders, I am actually afraid of them to tell you the truth. I have never had a spider bite before and I am usually pretty careful but if you didn't even see this thing, I don't think being careful matters,LOL. I will definately keep PRID in mind though I really hope I never have to use it,LOL.

Hi Crivas: Yeah I hate spiders and I seem to be drawn to them as I've had so many spider bites in my lifetime...I hate them I hate them ! But yes do get yourself a can of this prid next time you are near a pharmacy; Its just the best stuff out there for so many things, its a great drawing salve and I love it!! If you don't see it in the pharmacy area ask them its usually back behind the counters in most stores I don't know why years ago it was out on the shelves with the other products...???

Eucalyptus oil or candles. They keep the spiders at bay and help you breathe better.. a two for one special. It's not that that expensive. Of course if you got the spider bite from the shopping that wouldn't have helped.... Spiders love bananas.

HI TLChimes: Yes I love Eucalyptus too, helps my sinus problems (G)!! and I do burn lots of candles I have neighbors who smoke next door to me and all of their smoke ventilates into my apartment of course so I burn lots of candles mostly soy ones as I can't breathe good in the other ones that produce "soot"....Great advice but where I live, its a spider, bug infestation, they do spray each month but I think the creatures like it instead of it killing them LOL! SAd but true!!

Personally, I welcome spiders. Of course I do take care that we don't have any poisonous ones inside, but even with the Brown Recluse you don't see them often because of the nature of their habitat-they prefer dark places to raise their young. The problem is, we as humans have come into their territory with our structures, so it's not really their fault. Secondly, spiders do a great service to us. They take care of more pesky and disease bearing insects because of their diet. We should definately hold the spider in some regard for this service. I have heard as well that the spiderweb itself can be used to make a pumice pack to help in the healing of other insect bites. I'm sorry you were bit though, it does hurt, and definately isn't fun.

HI Anora_Eldorath; You sound like my friend Pye, she says she releases them outside when she finds...{{shudder}} not me.... I hadn't heard that about using a spiderweb and making a pumice out of it, I would imagine that yes it would work out in the help of healing a wound; Yeah those darn bites do hurt after the fact, I've yet never seen a spider on me when the darn things bite me, only the ate out "hole" they leave on me after they have bitten me... I'm sure I'll have more of them throughout the year I usually do...(G)! thanks for stopping by
