At about 7:43p.m., I was in the laundry room, doing my laundry, when I felt a strong jolt and my friend from Texas screamed. I do not know that magnitude of this one or where it was centered, all I know is that we are having them a lot more frequently now. This means that it is time for me to hit the road. I do not want to be here for the big one and I believe that these are warnings for big one. So where do I go in America, where there are no big disasters to be concerned with? Is there anywhere?

Hi Rozie dear! It has also been my experience that small earthquakes are just prelude to a big one..but I am hoping that it is not always the case. I hope that everything will be alright for you and those living there but i guess, it is better that you be prepared on what to do and what to have in case of an earthquake. It has been a long time since we had a big one here in my country. Take care and blessings to you! lovelots..faith210

We have been waiting for the big one all of my life. Personally, I would just assume skip it, LOL. Does it get real cold in the Philippines? I know a few people from there and our winters don't seem to affect them much at all.

Hi dear friend! I pray that you will be able to skip it! It usually gets cold here during the months of December to February and I think the coldest temperature I remember in my local area was 18-19 degrees Celsius but it is colder in the northern part of my country which can go below 15 degrees Celsius. The rest of the months are sunshine and rains (strong rains during storm months)! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

I do not think any such place exist, there is some sort of natural challenge no matter where you live. All you can do is choose the lesser of all the evils and ride it out. I grew up in Florida with hurricanes and floods; I live on a huge fault line now and the Big One is predicted to hit anytime. Fires and earthquakes out west, tornados throughout the midwest, snow and ice everywhere else, etc, etc; I say forget them all, just pick a spot, plant yourself and prey for the best. Its relative to your frame of mind.

Well, I suppose I will just stay put. I can not handle the freezing cold.

I think they may be warnings for a bigger one too! - I hope not! How about Washington DC? It does get cold here but not as cold as other places.

You know rozie that is a good question I do not know. You have some problems with weather or earthquakes no matter where you go. We are pretty mild when it comes to weather but hot in the summer it can get up to 111 or higher in the summer. We typically do not have the earthquakes you do down south and there is no chance of us sliding into the ocean if we do have an earth quake. In the city we do not have the fires that they have in the Mountains around us. We do occasionally have flooding. We do get colder than you do. It was only 55ยบ today. We did get 1.73 inches of rain this last week but we did not have any flooding.

My dear Rozie -- As far as your question goes, I think Arizona would work as far as not having natural weather disasters. If the big one is on its way and you're in it, you will survive unless it's your time to go anyway. That sounds a little unfeeling when I type it, I don't mean it that way. You could be crossing the street and a car could slam into you. You're in God's hands. He could take you out at any time. That's just the way I feel personally. As far as being an earthquake survivor goes, something in the Bible says something to the effect that God will never give you a challenge you can't deal with.

That's interesting. I haven't felt any earthquakes at all lately.
