Are you superstitious?

Superstition dates back many centuries ago. Do you believe in Friday the 13th, black cats or walking under a ladder bringing bad luck, 7 years bad luck if you break a mirror? Are there any other superstitions in your culture? I would like to know that. I don't believe much in these but still don't walk under a ladder.

I don't believe much in superstition because i think it will just limit the things that i can do. Though for some it may not hurt to follow but it's to them. I personally rely on facts so basically, i need to be convinced that superstition can be true.

yes but sometimes I just don't do it like walking under the ladder. Actually on Friday the 13th I don;t remember that anything bad ever happened to me.

I used to be so superstitious that I would even annoy myself! I am still that way about some things (ladders, opening umbrellas inside), but I have gotten over myself with most of the rest. Mine started by listening to my Grandmother, who was the most superstitious person I have ever met. She would go over board, as far as I was concerned, and that is part of how I was able to get over so much. I would see how she reacted and I'd think, "well, now that's just silly."

I suppose I'm like many people. I say I'm not superstitious but I try to avoid walking under ladders and when I pour out too much salt and drop some I toss a bit over my left shoulder to avoid bad luck, just in case. I wrote an article about Friday 13th, and when I was doing my research I found that there are many more recorded road accidents in the UK on Friday 13th than on other Fridays. Scary, huh?

hahaha 13th? I born on 13th of a month. I feel blessed :-) In our culture, there are lots of beliefs followed. Now the new trend people started naming it as superstitious. Ofcourse, few are baseless and hence can be named so. But few are having deep rooted meanings, which our ancestors followed. But since we didn't show interest to learn, it too got joined in the superstitious list. For example, a married gal should wear a ring in the finger next to toe in the legs. Now modern gals complaint that it is superstitious and just bcoz guys don't want others to look at their wives, they make such symbols, bla bla fightings... But the real truth is, the nerves of our body ends in our feet. The nerves connected with a woman's utreus ends in the finger next to toe. So, by wearing a ring after marriage, it massages everytime the woman walks and there by makes the utreus strong enough to carry a baby in future. So, I love to analyze each and everything I need to follow and if I have an answer, I just believe and follow.... Sometimes, even if I don't have an answer, but it gives happiness to me or to my people around then too I follow... No arguments...
