It's in the news. A female college student was pronounced dead due to hazing from a fraternity/ sorority she joined. She was brutally paddled and raped by initiators. Such a horrible incident that needs to be stopped. Why is still happening? Who do you think should be blamed?

I've heard of the news. It was depressing alright but i'm beginning to get used to it. It always happen like every year. I don't know but this kind of incident only makes a fraternity earning the reputation for being the deadliest. For some, especially for members, it's a bragging right. They might say "you won't survive unless you've suffered enough or get killed". I think we should blame the government for not implementing stricter anti-hazing law. It has no teeth at all. You know why, those in the position are also members.

You got it mod. The government should implement a firm anti-hazing law. Parents should guide their children, too.

I really don't understand why schools can't totally stop hazing! If I have the hand, I will totally ban fraternity and sorority. While it maybe true that there are good ones,I don't think there is eve a need. I believe we can always meet good friends and build real good relationship even without joining such kind of association. I never join such when I was in college, but I made real good friends and enjoyed my college days without getting through that trouble.

That is awful. I do not know what is wrong with people these days. I'm not sure why it is still happening and going on. I do not know what is in the minds of our children these days either.

Incidents like this are just too serious to point fingers on anyone. because everyone is at fault. The complete eradication of fraternities should be implemented in all schools. This way, these organizations could not proliferate in campuses. School authorities should exercise an iron hand in this, parents educate and warn their children and the government should establish preventive measures. Cheers.
