Oh, how I love that rare to medium-rare steak. It's got to be nice and red. My mom says it's because I was born in the jungles of New Guinea. Okay then. Both my kids love it raw and rrrriiiiggggly too and they were born in Glendale and West Covina. In any case, how do you like your Steak?

Well done here. No moo-ing for me! No pink at all. I like it cooked the whole way though, same with a burger. I just can't stand the thought of blood oozing onto the plate.

Uuuwwww, blood oozing! There's a trick to cooking it medium rare. It's wriggly but not bleeding. Hehehee, I'm really loving the word moo-ing.

Hi Gstragirl. I like mine medium but not medium rare, I don't mind a bit of pink but not red. I can't remember the last time I had steak though. Huggles. Ellie :D

Oh, Ellie, it's time to get all dressed up and have yourself a nice juicy steak dinner. A little pink but firm, perhaps?

I say to my husband that he likes his steak to moo when he cuts it, that's how rare he enjoys it. Personally, I used to request well-done and then medium-well, and for several years now I've been getting it medium. I don't think I'll go any further than that, though!

I think you've been brave enough, lol. From well-done to medium. Nice! You might have been put off by your husband's steak that is still mooing. Oh, that just brings a smile to my face.

I love my steak the same way as you do and I was born in the winter right here in the city of MOntreal, what would your mom say about that lol. I can't stand it well done that makes steak taste like shoe leather.

Yes, a well done steak apparently tastes like leather . . . shoe leather is even worse. And I would say that the jungle of New Guinea is a world apart from Montreal. I'll let mom know she can't use that as reasoning anymore.

I like my steak done but not well done. I can eat it rare sometimes but not very often. I just do not like it to look real pink inside. I used to like it a little bit burnt but not anymore.

The burnt steak didn't taste like ashes to you? Ah, so many preferences. It's all good.

I like my steak either medium or medium-well. I don't want any pink anywhere on the meat I am eating. My husband is the same way. His brother on the other hand likes it raw...I mean rare. Now that is just gross! Ewww!

Heehehe . . . rare rules!!!! You like medium . . . that has a little pink in it, doesn't it? Happy eating, my friend, no matter how you like it.

I like mine cooked untill it could not be cooked any more :))))) I hate meat when its red and plus after my operation I cant eat it that way even if I want. My husband is crazy about meat and likes in every shape and form (but he puts a line when its too raw). My son is not a big meat eater (like me).

I like my steak Medium, and big with fat on it,hahaha! Here in Europe they don't have steaks like in America and Canada. The people here think a steak is a little piece of meat 250 grams. They call that steak, I am still hungry after wards. hahaha! Same with Lobster, here they are so small, and so expensive! Two bites it is gone. And the steaks are expensive too! If you want barbecue sauce or extra ketchup you pay even more!!! I really miss having real steak!!! Oh well, can't have everything. Groetjes

Gotta have it rare. Well done steak is just disgusting not to mention the protein has been cooked out of it. My oldest daughter used to bite a hole in the meat package trying to get to the meat when she was sitting in the grocery cart as a wee one. I had to put the meat way out of her reach. My kids were all raised on rare steaks.

Ah, a kindred spirit! yay! I'll have to tell my mother next time she complains about the medium rare steak on my plate -- it cooks all the protein out if it's well done. Thanks for the info. That's a funny story about your little one. Love it!!

Growing up, I had to have it well-done...not even a hint of pink. Basically, a gray hockey puck. Tastes change... Now, I prefer it to be just shy of medium - not quite medium-rare. Still pink and juicy, but I don't like to 'watch it wiggle' like gelatin. Burgers, on the other hand, still need to be well-done for me. I can't stand it when I bite into a hamburger that is soft and squishy...makes me gag. Before I was married, I had a co-worker/friend, Paul, that would always come over to my apartment for dinner after work. We worked in the scene shop at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA. I was living right around the corner from the theater and shared the apartment with one of the electricians in the theater, Eric, while Paul lived in the next town. Our hours were such that Paul would never make it home in time for dinner, so he just ate with me. Our daily routine was go straight to the grocery store from work and pick up a nice steak or some chicken. We would take that to my place and stick in a marinade of some sort. We would then take out the meat that we had purchased the day before and cook it on the grill - even in December! Needless to say, we gained lots of experience cooking steak on a grill and a wide variety of marinades. Good times!

Wiggle like gelatin hey? Nice! And yes, I do like my hamburger well done. No pinky stuff there. Thor, I think you should write a book. You have way too many adventures. Oh wait . . . you did write a book. Ah, a post for another day.

All of my relatives and siblings love their steak medium, or medium well on a good day. I however am disgusted by raw meat. How can you even look at bloody steak without feeling sick? My friends tell me there's "no point" in eating a steak well done, but I continue doing so. It still tastes fine to me, and I feel a lot safer and all, even when I know raw steak doesn't pose a big health risk to you. So, I would say that I will continue to eat my steak well done.

You have to cook it in such a way that it's pink but not bleeding. But, of course, everyone has their preference.

Wow, how did I miss this one way back when??? I'm a "still moo-in' " kinda gal. Slice it off the cow, light a match under it and throw it on the plate! WOOHOO!! I actually have had people ask me to get my steak cooked a bit more or they would not be able to eat their meal. My husband likes his totally tasteless and like shoe leather...

Like yours please ! :):)or even more rare, if possible. ANd so do my kids, but not hubby... for him the steak has to be cooked for so long it's ready to be used as a shoe sole LOL His meat has not taste at all, it's just this dry thing in the middle of his plate. On the other hand mine and the kids... are yummy and juicy:)
