Besides Chinese, I don't know what doest it mean to others! Haha, if you are Chinese, wish you have a great festival weather you are at home or out of town! Else, wish you guys can share our happiness anyway!

That is wonderful to hear. It is still the middle of winter here. We will not have spring until March or April. We will have festivals in a few months.

I guess it is still middle of winter too. But I don't know why they just celebrate it like this. Maybe it is just a triditional culture.

How can it be SPRING festival in the middle of winter? We have no such national holiday, but many areas or cities have local festivals. Locally, there will soon be a trail drive and rodeo. People will ride horses and/or wagons from distant points to San Antonio where they will have a big rodeo. This is don the first part of February, and the weather nearly always turns cold and rainy. After that, there will be the strawberry festival at Poteet, a small town nearby. The cherry blossom festival, I believe, is known worldwide. A small festival that I frequently attended as a child is 89ers Day in Guthrie, Oklahoma. This is always held April 22nd. People dress in the attire of 1889, ride horses and in covered wagons. There is always a parade with bands, floats, and horses. This is to celebrate the opening of that particular part of the country to white settlement. These are just three of the many festivals held in the spring in the USA. Sorry to take up so much space writing about my country. I would like to hear more about your spring festival. I wish you a good time at the festival and health, happiness, and prosperity for the future.
