Do you stand up for yourself?

I am a chicken, no doubt but I've been being pushed around like crazy these past few months and finally have the urge to stay "Stop it!!" How often do you stand up for yourself? Where you always able to or when did it start happening to you?

I stand up for myself, but figure this: sometimes people stand up for us and in return we stand up for them.

I used to be a real push-over and would not stand up for myself for fear of upsetting some one else. After being single for some time, I grew a back-bone, and now I am not afraid to stand up for myself at all.
