Are You A Sugar Addict???

I admit that I am. It is a very hard habit to kick, because unlike drugs and alcohol, most people indulge every now and then, so it is practically everywhere. There is actually four vending machines full of junk in my building. I am able to access them at any time and believe me I do. When my sister's and I were little, we did not get a whole lot of junk food. My mother was very strict about our diets. Although, it was good for us, I think that we should have gotten the sugar craze out of our system, before getting our permanent teeth, but that is just my little silly opinion. Anyway, after reading this latest article about sugar and junk food addiction, I plan to start really focusing on cutting down on the amount of junk I consume. Do you have an occasional sweet tooth or are you an addict like me? Do share honestly. https://www.qualityhealth.com/poll?poll=1366&rf=31522&mc=MTQ0MjA4NzA.&emailPID=related_articles

Yes I would have to say that I am. I love my sweets and have since I was a kid. I'm trying to cut down now as I'm getting older, and don't want to have health issues. Still knowing myself I realize its completely ridiculous and false for me to say I will never eat sweets again even though I know they are bad for me.

I wish that there was some kind of therapy that would totally turn me off to sugar forever. I know they could never do an over-exposure type of therapy or the people would become Diabetic and get all kinds of other health problems. I guess it is time for me to start praying about this one.

Chocolate chip cookies are my downfall - I should actually stop baking them LOL When I lived in New Zealand peanut slabs and twisties were my favorites and I use to each them several times a week LOL The only chocolate I eat nowadays is when they're in the cookies.

Actually, the lumps of coal that I purchased at Christmas time were actually chocolate wrapped in black foil paper. They were so cute, because they really looked like a lump of coal. Peanut slabs and twisties???

Chocolate calls my name...and I answer lol, I do love it but I am on a diet and being good. There are 12 teaspoons of sugar in 1 can of coke....since learning more about sugar, some things are being eliminated from my diet...no wonder diabetis is on the rise.

I think that Coke is sweeter than some of the others. In some sodas there is only nine teaspoons of sugar. I believe that we all have a unhealthy vice that we need to work on. I do not believe that any ones is better or worse than anyone else's.

Hi Rozie dear! I used to be before. And for a long time now, I just happen to not have them anymore. It is not something I swore to avoid, I just don't have that regular cravings for them any longer nor will I indulge in spoonfuls of sweeteners into my coffee, tea or oatmeal. Oh don't get me wrong, I still have them once in awhile..In fact, I love chocolates but for some time now..I haven't really buy any kind of sweets and most of the time, they were just given to me which my husband finish up one day at a time. lol.. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Yes, I'm a sugar addict. There's almost ALWAYS room for dessert and very rarely does a day go by without me eating something sweet. I ate sweets as a kidlet, too, so I was never sugar-deprived. I've heard that it takes 21 days to break the sugar addiction. I've never been able to stick it out even for a few days without sugar. Yikes! Yes, I am diabetic.

Is there a special program that helps kick the sugar habit or do you just attempt to go cold turkey. Or maybe you try to eat a little less everyday. I am sorry to know that you are Diabetic. That is certainly one thing that I do not want. My former doctor says, I am not Diabetic, because he is such a good doctor. I have often thought about that and have no idea what he meant by that.

Did I understand correctly? He said something to the effect: "Rozie, you're not diabetic because I'm a good doctor." Hmm...and he snatches sugary foods away from you so you can't eat them. ha-ha. There are lots of good doctors and lots of non-compliant patients. You're probably compliant most of the time. I'm compliant if I think my life depends on it.

I wouldn't say I was a sugar addict, more like a chocoholic, specially dark chocolate. I just got done eating a chocolate pudding cup. I really like ice cream too, I eat it year round. I will put on a sweat shirt in the winter time to eat ice cream. I have this thing with cough drops, they helped me quit smoking, but now its like I am addicted to them. As far as I am concerned, junk food is good food, hehe. I do eat healthy food too.

It is a hard habit to break, because indulging makes you crave more. I do find that when I have plenty of nutritious, healthy foods, I do not have as many cravings for all those unhealthy choices.

I can dig the nutritious healthy meal, but it needs to taste good also. If I do not eat out, I sacrifice taste. If I do eat out, I sacrifice nutrition. Oh, to live in a world where I have both. Where I live, we have a cook, that can't.

I admit I have this same addiction. I need to replace my sugar habits with good stuff like fruits and stuff but I always get that at least one time a day feeling like I need something sweet. I have had that since childhood.I have lost weight before but it's not easy just like tonight I did alright I didn't eat a whole lot but I ending up eating something with sugar tonight. That is one of my goals this year to get my weight back down.

I know that my diet will change dramatically this year. As soon as I move out of the place where I am living, everything will be different.

I like suger and sweet but I don't think I am addicted to it. I just like my tea sweet and if I drink some big cup of tea, I put 4 blocks of sugar in it, but as I have seen from other people it is something common among many other people so this is the reason why I don't think I'm a sugar addict.

Thank you for the warning. I know that I am in desperate need of counting out the sugar and other junk. This is why I went on and did this topic. I am sorry that your blood sugar is high, but glad that you were able to cut down on the sugar.
