It's advisable never to stop a sneeze by piching your nose as it could rupture your eardrums. The last time i tried to stop the sneeze i did not damage my eardrums but was left with a slightly bloodshot eye for a few days.
While trying to find out more about why this happened, i came across something which i found myself smiling at. It was an old superstition regarding a sneeze.
Sneeze to the left indicates a disapointment.
Sneeze to the right is a promise of money.
This old rhyme was even better.
Sneeze on a Monday, sneeze for danger.
Sneeze on a Tuesday, kiss a stranger.
Sneeze on a Wednesday, sneeze for a letter.
Sneeze on a Thursday for something better.
Sneeze on a Friday, sneeze for woe
Sneeze on a Saturday, a journey to go.
Sneeze on a Sunday, see you lover tomorrow.
So are you paying attention to how and when you sneeze ?

What if I sneeze at EXACTLY midnight between any 2 days then Alok?
Maybe if I were to do sneeze at midnight on Monday evening, then I get to kiss a dangerous stranger? lol.
On a serious note, another superstition related to thi is that the soul exits the body when a person sneezes. The term "Bless You" is uttered when someone sneezes because it was/is believed that this returns the soul to the body before the devil can take it! I don't have any feelings myself towards that particular superstition, but I do say Bless You every time someone sneezes and always have. One thing I do know though, is that I'll definitely be sneezing to the right from this point forward! Now is that MY right or your right?

I sneeze to the left when my left is free
I sneeze to mt right when my right is free
In either cases, I sneeze to release myself
I sneeze on a Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs.....
I sneeze to the onlookers 'bless you'!

Alok, thanks for sharing this. It was as much as funny as it is sweet. Loved it!
My love affair with sneezes pretty much is summed up in the above lines. But what i did not mention is the fact that it feels quite embarrassing to sneeze and release all that's inside when in public. While it gives unbound pleasure to sneeze it off when we have cold but its certainly not a decent image when you release it full. I have seen people mastering the art of delivering the whole not so decent act and successfully taking it to a professional rendition. And then there are people who would get and all set to sneeze, obviously that makes them feel great!
However, I do agree that it could be extremely fatal if we want to suppress the storm within, as you have said. As a matter of fact we must not.
Great sneeze show there!

I'm glad you liked the sneeze show Mimpi.
And thanks for those lovely words. We have a wonderful new rhyme here.
It's embarrasing to let go fully in public, but i can tell you i've seen some real hilarious ones and some real sleazy sneezy realeses.
Enjoy the sneeze to release and remember there is always someone saying Bless you.

When I sneeze, I usually sneeze straight and into my hands or hanky, so its neither left or right. Yes, ive even heard that blowing too hard when you have a cold can also leave you with ruptured eardrums. Now I guess I'll keep a track on when I sneeze so i'll know my luck. hehe.

I find myself sneezing from time to time especially lately or when I first woke up in the morning. I think it has something to do with my allergic rhinitis. Wow, that is a nice share ans information that you share here. I never take notice of the on which side or days do I sneeze. LOL. I am not observant at all with how i sneeze. LOL. I will try to pay attention on it the next time I sneeze. thanks a lot.

I liked that little rhyme. It was cute! I've always heard that if you hold a sneeze in it can kill brain cells. I don't know if it's true. But when I was told that it really scared me, so I never hold sneezes in. Also, one time I tried sneezing with my eyes open. It was a bad scene, and so painful! hah. I never did that again!

NO i do not pay attention at how or when I sneeze
However I rarely try to stop them because I know it is not the mosr advisable thing to do .. if in public i try to sneeze as quietly and "cleanly "as possible but it is not always easy

Sneeze to the right is a promise of money.
Never found that to be true. Being right handed, i tend to sneeze to the right & don't remember a promise of money ever coming true!!!

Let's see... today is Tuesday and I sneezed to the right so that gives me a promise of money while I kiss a stranger. Sounds to me like I am working the streets there.
PS - What direction I sneeze at depends on where my companion is. If someone's to my left, then, to be polite and hygienic, I go the other way.

yes, when i have to sneeze i try to let it all out no matter how loud it can be. i like that list that you gave about sneezing. i have never heard of it before. another myth that my family and i share is that if you sneeze 3 times in a row, someone is thinking of you :)
