Those darned squirrels!
I've been reading up on how to get rid of them or at least prevent them from destroying everything because I've recently planted a lot of fruit and nut trees on our property. They've already gotten all the peaches and apricots I had growing last year! Oh, they also scarfed up all the hickory nuts I had on a huge tree that was here when we bought the place.
I'm through with being nice! I'm getting out the .22 we have and taking aim! I've tried all kinds of repellants and those humane traps. I caught one opossum; no squirrels.
I read that they cause more damage to the fruit and nut industry than any disease or bad weather. Luckily, it's perfectly legal to shoot squirrels here.
Although, I did read one thing that might help... some. Someone had bought a realistic-looking rubber snake and put it in one of her trees. The squirrels didn't touch the fruit! Maybe we should try that!

Hello Shar. I am also looking forward to seeing a lot of flowers in spring. I love to see flowers very much for their beauty. I am glad that there are a lot of flowers on campus during spring, summer and autumn. We also have a certain kind of flower that also blooms in winter, which is called something like monthly flowers. Flowers do make our life more beautiful and colorful. Enjoy yourself, friend.

Don't wait... put some fake ones outside!
I've felt exactly like you do about winter all my life. We had one particularly long, cold winter and I just got fed up with looking outside and seeing only grey!
So, I went to our local Goodwill store and found a really large bag filled with plastic and silk flowers for only $5.00. I bought it, brought it home, got out my ladder and put it beside an apple tree I had in my back yard.
I started attaching those flowers all over the tree! Okay, yeah, I know what you're thinking, probably exactly what my neighbors were thinking: "That's crazy!"
Well, my neighbors might have thought I was off my rocker, but they all said how much they LOVED my colorful tree! It was sooooooo nice to look outside and see something other than GREY!
I've done that every year since then, just not with trees. I usually keep some plastic flowers outside (silk ones kinda disintegrate sooner) where I can see them every day, usually where I normally have real flowers growing.
I had one neighbor exclaim how pretty my tulips were. When I told her that they were fake, she nearly flipped! (How could she not realize that I had nothing there the day before, but tulips in full bloom that day??? LOL) This was early Spring so, technically some flowers COULD have been blooming.
But, I need the real flowers, too. I'm so excited right now with all the plant nursery catalogs coming in the mail! Last fall, I gathered up quite a lot of flower seeds to plant this year, so I'm really psyched for Spring!

oh that would be very nice to see flowers all year long...and it has been cold for so long I would love to see flowers again, and see the stores open up the garden area again...that would mean it is warmed up again...I miss the warm weather. LOL
Even my son saw an episode of sesame street and they were at the beach and he came up to me and said he missed the beach... I laughed and said we all do, but if we went now, it would be frozen over...LOL
happy mylotting.
