I don't have a fence surrounding my yard therefore it isn't very private. People don't really bother us too much but I would sometimes like to have a fence.
Do you think that you would rather have a fence or no fence at all? What are the benefits to either one if you had an opinion on it?

We own two properties and my husband and I live on the corner lot. There used to be a chain link fence around the entire property with sliding gates in front of the driveways. They were a pain in the butt. The nephews were constantly climbing the fence to cut through our yard instead of going around to where the gates were so that was a pain listening to my husband complain about that. Finally, he took down the fencing around our lot so my daughter still has it in front of her house. In between he built a wooden fence, about four feet high, that boarders our driveway and connects to the end of her fence at the property line. The fence on the other side of the driveway is just for looks. He stained it dard redwood to match the deck and it looks much nicer. I do like the front yard being wide open better than I liked it fenced in.

We really don't have a fence except for what we have around the pool. I don't think it would really benefit anyone to have a fence around the property unless the neighbors are really bothersome, or if I have dogs that I would want to keep in the yard.

Not having a fence means I can mow in any direction. Not having a fence means my dogs have to be on chains when they go out. I would like to have a fence of some kind for the dogs but I know the winds in our area would probably destroy it. We get some very nasty winds in the Spring time.
