Cloned dog

I just saw on the news where a woman in Texas spent $150,000.00 to have her dog cloned. She had preserved her dog's DNA many years ago, and when her dog died last year, she sent the DNA overseas to have it cloned. She just received the puppy, and is hoping that it takes on the personality of her deceased dog. The puppy is ten weeks old, and really cute. Now, since this was done at a different location, I am wondering if the puppy is in fact the cloned dog of her deceased dog, or could it be a puppy of the same breed as her dead dog. What's your thought on cloning pets?

When my daschund passed away the idea popped into my head for 2 seconds. But even though I loved her so much, I would not waste that much money on the process. Now if it were free, well then maybe!

I know what you mean, that is a lot of money to spend.

So she sent the DNA overseas and they sent her back a puppy? O_o Seems like they could have just as easily found a puppy that looked similar to the woman's old dog...She'd never really know.
