What is the best thing to do when Depressed?

How do you handle depression? Lost your job? Broke up with your BF or GF? Low on cash? Death in the family/friend?

I think crying and sleep is the best way to handle depression.

I agree but i use food sometimes and be in the gym hours at a time.....lol that's the worst for me trying to stay 135 pounds

Do something that you've never done before. try to experience something different. be with people that cares for you. or talk to people, then you might just realize that the problems that made you depressed are nothing compared to others concerns. do amazing experiences. do things and eat foods that make you happy. for all we know,being depressed is just not worth it.. life goes on..:) things happen and things change..so accept that they do..move on..:)

i will divert my mind and mood....by watching some comedy movies and playing with kids..and will not let it know to anyone that am not in a mood

I handle depression by talking to people that uplift me and make me feel good. I also try to keep myself busy so I won't think about whatever it is bothering me. I also cry...a lot!

I tried to deal with all of the hard things on my own and when I could not handle any more I went to my doctor to talk about it and we found out that I have PTSD (post tramatic stress disorder) and I got on meds to help me deal with things in life in a better way. How would you handle it?

You pray...think positive, and think happy thoughts in life..see the brighter side of every situation. find a friend, or a shoulder to cry on. speak out, express your feelings. cry about it,be angry about it, be whatever you feel like doin about it.. and when your over it start a new beginning..

The better way would be for someone to console you rather than you being alone when you are depressed.They should make you feel that you are not alone but they should care for you so that you should not feel that you are alone in the time of depression.
