I think the best teachers are the people who know how to communicate. They can be blunt and rude but the main point has to be that they are speaking the same language as you. I also think teachers should have a lot of confidence and expectations from students. What do you look for in a teacher?

I agree with what you said that teacher should have a lit of confidence so that he or she can face his or her students and could teach them even better but teacher with to much expectations... Well... All I can is that we cant meet all the expectations.... Now for me, the best teacher would posses the following... Self confidence, good communication skills, knowlegable in the field he or she is teaching and can answer and help his or her students.

In a teacher I want someone who can be blunt and has a command of the subject as well as the language. I had a few professors in college from other countries that I did learn a lot from but it was too hard to understand them because of their accents and they didn't fully understand the language.
I also like a professor who knows how to have fun while teaching the class something. My favorite professor was one that made jokes and made us think about the subject based on the things he said and real life references to the literature.
