Fire station burns because food was left cooking..

The fire station staff is supposed to teach others safety methods and they end up being careless! This is indeed a case of carelessness. I wonder how long they took to detect the fire!

I used to work as a "Communications Officer" for one of the cities near where I live. I'd been doing 9-1-1 Operating and Police dispatching for a couple of years when I finally trained in Fire dispatching. My very last night of training, my coach decided to take a break, went into the break room and put some pop tarts in the toaster, then he came back in the center to shoot the breeze with me. (It was graveyard and a really boring shift night) The toaster malfunctioned and didn't pop them up and the cupboards caught on fire. Next thing we knew our alarm was going off and I had to dispatch the Fire department to US! Station 1 was in the same building as us (City Hall). We got the fire put out with our extinguishers before they got to us.... but they took great delight in pulling those black pop tarts out of the toaster and made a ceremony out of serving them to my coach. We had to sit the rest of the night and dispatch with our doors open and smoke ejectors running.
