How do you feel about old artists coming back?

I have been seeing news of many older artists returning to the spotlight (for better or for worse). It is starting to become strange, to me at least. So many bands faded out in the 80's and early 90's, and now 20-30 years later they are reigniting their flames. How do you feel about this? Is this really going to make music "better" (by bringing back old tunes) or do you think for most of these bands it is practically a cash in? I am torn about it. I never really liked much 80's music and the 90's contained little I really enjoyed (in the mainstream anyways). I just find it hard to grasp how a band like KISS can reunite after so long and still think they are the only band wearing face paint and "rocking." I personally think alot of these bands are just becoming more and more egocentric. Half of them seem to be getting their own "reality" television shows, and then continuing to make mediocre albums and tour. I dont know, I just find it strange really. What are your thoughts?

I feel like it's a pretty good thing when old artists come back because it just means that they have some more visions that they would like to bring forth to the world. There are some old artists that I would like to make a new album though and I don't think that they are going to for a while for example the band Tool. I've also been waiting on the Eros album from The Deftones to drop for a while but their bass player did get in a horrific accident. Hopefully Chi gets better in the future.
