My state had an earth quake yesterday. It was a 2.5 magnitude quake. A 3.6 magnitude quake hit the same area Dec. 16. The director of the South Carolina Earthquake Education says theres nothing to worry about. No property damage ad not one hurt. I live about 2 hours from the coast where the earthquake took place so didn't feel any thing. But it make me wonder.

Earthquakes are scary. I felt one here in OH, of course it was a little one. I wouldn't want to feel a big one. I was out in Cal. a year ago and was so hoping te ground would stay still, it did, I was releaved. I think earthquakes can occur lots of places that we wouldn't think off.

I remember the one' in California when the bridge in, I believe, San Fransisco collapsed during world series. It was horrible to see. I always thought I would rather be in tornado country because you can see them coming. I don't want to ever feel the ground moving.

Makes one feel like they are on "shaky" ground..doesn't it? (A terrible pun, but it is early Sat. morn, m'dear) When earthquakes of that magnitude happen often, sadly one gets used to it! Living on this small Island...with the San Andrea fault from Mt. Baker running right underneath it...these are common occurences and that level! When moving here, I purposely chose higher ground..having a large body of water, Georgia Strait on one side & Juan de Fuca strait on the other side, I know the big one is coming...but I didn't want to face a Tsunami, as well...so opted NOT to have waterfront property! Have a great weekend!

One often thinks that earthquakes just happen in California and for get they can happen any where. I wouldn't want to experience a Tsunami either. When one sees th damage they can do I really don't like the idea of them.

Our common ones are between 3 to 5 on Richter...so there's a lot of rattling & banging...BUT, I do know to pay attention to my pets...they seem to have an inner sense that one is coming! And, yes, I am totally prepared...an Emergency Kit that will get me thru 72 hours! We have a wonderful Provincial Emergency Plan in place, too!
