I have had some really good teachers in my school while i was a student and some of them made a large impact on me. I have very fond memories of those teachers and even today when i happen to meet any of them i feel immense joy, because, they were part of a most precious time of my life and had played a very important part in shaping my life . It is so in most cases during my time and my friends feel the same , and we all had a lot of respect and affection for our teachers.
But when I see some recent newsreports nowadays about students beating up their teachers and even killing them I start wondering what has gone wrong? Who is to be held responsible for such a drastic change in the society?
what are your views friends regarding this and how was your own experience during your student life with your teachers ?

You are right 'teachers' play an important part in shaping our life. Had there been not good teachers, we would not have at this point, where we are now. It makes me also sad to read the stories, when I read that some students disrespected their teacher(s) by abusing him. Teachers are great source of information and they alwyas appreciate good and intelligent students. I had some very good teachers in my life, during my school and college days and they would always appreciate me in my studies and other activities.

Incentive or salary should not act as a deterrant for a teacher to teach his students. Teachers are always respected and regarded, even if they retire. I could not be a teacher, but I would have loved to be one, had I got an opportunity. My fate took my other way.

I know one needs to rise above monetary considerations, but at the end of the day it is a reality we need to face- afterall they also have ambitions and a family to look after etc; it is in the hands of the authorities to realise this and make the profession more attractive so that we have good dedicated teachers

I am a fortunate person to have had wonderful teachers right from my school days to college and I owe many of my skills to them. Recently I wrote an article in Helium, com and sent the link to my head of the department [thirty one years ago she was my lecturer and assistant H O D and she wrote some encouraging words .I felt so thrilled when I saw her comments .I have fond memories of many more teachers and I would write pages and pages of them all.

It is really nice to know that you have maintained such regard and respect for your teachers. I think it is a mutual feeling. If the teacher is good and is able to make a positive impact , then the students never forget them. It is such an important part of growing up that it leaves a lasting impression on an individual.I know from my personal experience that i feel thrilled when i meet some of my old teachers, because of their personalities..

Hi kellys thanks for your reply . I too had one teacher who came with a stick and he used it regularly on the students until the time when some parents complained about him and then he was asked to leave- i am sure there was more to the story than what we students were told at that time
